Zane sighed as his phone buzzed again. He unlocked it and several missed calls and texts glared at him.
He sighed, his eye catching some of the messages. They were from Aphmau.

Zane are you coming over today?
Are you awake? Txt me when you get up.
Okay now ur just ignoring me
ZUZUUH
Zane . . . Is something wrong?
Please talk to me! u know I wouldnt judge . . .
Zane please . . .
Im calling Garroth.

Zane sighed knowing he was going to be hearing a knock on his door any minute now.
"Hey uh baby brother? . . . I know you don't want to talk about it . . .but Aphmau said she is on her way." Garroth's voice filtered through the door his usually rough voice velvet smooth.
Zane winced as images of what happened came back to him. He shook his head whimpering, trying to shake the memory off
"Tell her to go away" he mumbled curling into the blanket even more.
"I couldn't Zane" the emotion in his older brothers voice startled Zane
"I know we aren't as close as I would like to be but I do care about you Zane, and I know Aphmau can talk to you better than I can"
Garroth's footsteps echoed loudly as he walked away. Zane sat still covered in his blankets holding a black ponie plushie.
"Zane! I'm coming up!" He heard Aphmau yell from downstairs.
Her slippers made the stairs creak as she ran up them. Then his door burst open.
Aphmau ran across the room and he flinched hearing the door bang against the wall.
She hugged him and he recoiled wincing as another memory hit him.
"Zane what happened?" Aphmau asked gently.
"I . . . . I don't honestly know" he croaked. His vocals were wrecked after crying so much.
"Well start from the beginning then" Aphmau prompted gently
"I . . . I was . . I was sitting here scrolling through my phone looking at stuff when I read something" Zane said quietly
"What did it say?" She prodded gently
"It was . . . One of those history theory things you know? It was . . . Whether shadow knights existed and stuff" Zane's voice was shaky. He couldnt help it though.
". . . Go ahead I'm listening Zane" Aphmau said hooking her arms around his shoulders
"A-as soon as I heard the word shadow knights I-It happened . . . ." Zane breathed his voice dropping to a whisper as his figure went rigid
