Chapter 57 - Virtual Battles
FLO POV
I ran out of the room ignoring Jong In's insistent calling of my name. Gus caught me easily and hauled me back to the room, Nana trailing close with her rifle.
"Florence what did I tell you-" Nana said sternly as she placed several bullets on a table.
"Nana it's Abaddon. He's the one attacking the Institute." I interrupted grabbing tightly on Gus since I felt faint.
"It's plausible. We can't confirm it." Nana answered.
"Nana I need a computer." I said not letting Gus direct me back to the bed. "I know it's Abaddon."
Nana shook her head as her eyes met mine. How can she be so calm? "No." She said firmly.
"Nana please!" I exclaimed.
"What in the world do you want a computer now?" Nana replied still very calm. "We're not connected to the internet."
"You have am, television and I know you have a mobile phone. I can hack those." I answered. "Please Nana."
"Flo we're not even sure if the Institute is under attack virtually." Gus said finally using some force on me making me sit down beside Jong In.
"But what if it is? Which I am sure it is and I need a computer to stop it." I insisted.
"Is there a way to confirm it Gus?" Jong In said more calm then I expected. He placed a hand on my knee. "Deep breaths Flo. Come on."
I never realize I was breathing too fast.
"It's too dangerous." Nana said.
"Can you explain why you think it's Abaddon?" Gus asked.
"We have no time." I was now being snappy.
"She thinks Abaddon might be hacking to get the list of the safe houses." Jong In explained for me as he rubbed me back. I looked at him anxious.
Nana knelt in front of me and grabbed my hands.
"You don't have to worry Flo. We're not on that list. This safe house is the safest because we're off the grid and that list." She said in the reassuring voice that always manages to calm me down – except for now.
I start to shake my head as I tried to stop from sobbing.
"It's okay to be scared darling but Nana won't let any of them hurt you. I promise." Nana continued as she rubbed my hands but I pulled them away after a few seconds. I stood up and started pacing.
"Flo-" Nana started to grab me but Jong In stopped him.
"Let her pace. We're giving her too much stimulation." He said still sounding very calm.
"I'll take care of that." Gus said and after a few minutes the blaring sound of the alarm stopped. I continued to pace a few times until the familiar pair of arms enveloped me. I tried to match his heartbeat as he ran a hand through my hair.
"How can you be so calm?" I muttered then heard his heart beat accelerate.
"I'm terrified Flo. I know what you're thinking but they have your parents to look after them Flo." Jong In said softly.
"He managed to go through a very high profile highly secured event. I know he can easily go through VIOLET like it's child's play." I replied.
"Flo you can't be sure-" Gus said but I interrupted.
