Chapter 32 - Absalom

2 Weeks Later

KAI

"Kai. Kai.. Oppa.." Her blue eyes shimmered with unshed tears  as her hand reached out for mine. I reached out trying to grasp her hand but she was fading away. Her eyes still so sad and full pain. "Oppa why?"

I bolted up, waking up as the voices started to scream at me. They were all saying the same thing.

It was your fault.

I took several deep breathes as the voices slowly faded in my mind. I covered my face as I tried to stop the tears from coming. I can't do this again. I can't cry like a useless wimp.

Her face.. Flo's face never held any anger. She was not even mad at me that last time I have seen her face. Just hurt.

"I'm so sorry." I murmured to myself as I flopped back into my bed.

I reached for my phone on the bed side table, it showed that it was 7 in the morning. Something glittered and I reached for it. It was the necklace and ring I gave Flo. Clutching it tightly in my fist I closed my eyes.

"Where are you?" I said to the air hoping it'll send the message but I might as well be in a dead zone. I opened my palm and watched as the rays of dawn made the necklace glimmer. Flo had so many jewels but she had never taken this off.

I'm so stupid for even doubting her. Stupid hormones. Stupid brain. Stupid Kai.

"Jong In. Breakfast." Chen said. I glanced up to catch his head disappear from the doorway. I didn't even get to reply.

I sigh and placed the necklace back on the table. I grab a new shirt since the one I was wearing before going to be was drenched from nightmare induced sweat. Once changed I pocketed my phone and the necklace and got out of my room.

My apartment. The one I shared with KyungSoo and Chanyeol was in chaos. There was empty food containers, used clothing and other random stuff everywhere. D.O. was currently cooking and Chen was already eating.

"Hey." I said in greeting. D.O. just gave me a nod and placed a plate of food in front of me.

"Hard night?" Chen asked between mouthfuls.

"What's new?" I answered starting to eat. "You going to work?"

"What else should we do?" Chen snapped.

"Just asking." I retorted.

"Okay. No fighting please. We have enough going on already at BWL." DO said with a sigh as he sat down and started to eat too.

"Oh how far we have gone down." Chen muttered but slapped my back in a rather brotherly way. "Sorry Kai."

"No problem Chen. I'm sort of used to being at the burnt end of someone's anger." I said with a shrug. The three of us continued eating in silence.

I mulled over what we had become with Flo gone. Fractured into two sides, one half mad as hell at me while the other had sort of forgave me. We all had contributed to hurting her but I was the worst. The monster- as Sehun called me.

It was difficult trying to co exist peacefully but even though we were mad at each other we all had the same goal.

Find Flo and bring her back.

After eating we all packed up and went to BWL where we tried to put up a show of living but we were actually jumpy at the smallest indicator or lead that can help us.
