Opal looks up as the red lights twitched and faded off the window. An escape route! She jumped up and sat on the edge of the tiny window, managing to squeeze through. She didn't think twice about what had happened to the security system, but she was thankful, whatever happened or whoever had done it.

Putting her foot on the side of the building she searched for a textured rock to put her foot on the stone wall. To her luck she found one and looked down in search for somewhere to put her hand. Climbing trees back on earth wasn't that much different from a stone wall.

As soon as Opal had gripped a stone that stuck out, the walls started to shake and all the stones started to sink in. "Nnononononono!" She whisper screamed.

"Well crap."

Opal was falling back first towards the river that flowed around the cage room department as she shut her eyes and hoped for the best.

Of course, she wasn't really expecting anything too special. Maybe this is how her life would see through? But getting this far into her retrieval mission she was determined not to die anytime soon.

Opal flailed her arms helplessly, attempting to grab onto one of the rocks. Luckily, she held on to one for about 4 seconds before she couldn't and hit her head hard on a piece of sand ground.

She awoke for a few seconds her surroundings going out of focus as she reached behind her head only to see her now fuzzy hand full of blood, as soon everything went blank. Ringing was all she heard as she felt a distant touch on her skin. Being lifted. Maybe to heaven? Had she even deserved to got there after leaving her brothers outside alone that one night? She honestly didn't care where she went in the after world at this point, the paint was so much she didn't want to deal with it anymore.

Make the pain go away. Please.

Head throbbing as the light seen through her eyelids glew orange tint. Opal slowly opens her eyes as she woke up in a small room. Where was she? Is this the afterworld? A small fireplace was lit in the tiny room, explaining the orange tint surrounding her. A desk lay beside the bed with plenty of books and a bookshelf next to it. The bed was stiff and so was her back as she sat up quickly, alert it was still real life. Opal touched her head and felt a large bandaid wrapped around it. She tried to remember what had happened, but the images were a little fuzzy right now.

The door opens as a tall guy about a few years older than Opal walks in with a bowl of water and a wet towel. At first Opal thought it was a ghost, with the hair as white as snow and skin as pale as porcelain. Large wings caught her eye, one black, one white. A different species? Jet black eyes caught Opal's grey ones as he looked shocked. "Up already?" The guy asks. Opal takes charge and stand straight up on the bed, prepared to fight the stranger. She twitched as her head stung her, dragging her back down to the firm bed. "Owww," she winced. "Be careful! That was quite a fall you took back there escaping the cages. I'm surprised you're even alive! That's impressive," the guy looked at Opal with beaming eyes in awe, white lashes fluttering.

Opal hadn't even realized she wasn't speaking the alien language anymore. Had the boy known english as well? "Wait...you can speak English?! How...?!" Opal raised one of her eyebrows, far more than confuzed. "Hold on let me introduce myself first! I'm Casper, I also escaped the cages like you did just a few days ago. You see, I was abducted from my planet when I was about in my early teen years... guess planet Jukla abducts many people of different species and planets huh? The capitol used technology to make me younger and try to erase all my memory. We would have to drink a special medicine to keep the same age. Apparently, something went wrong with me and I still remember clearly everything that happened. I was scared in the cage and managed to escape luckily, before they killed me. The English language is easier for me, because that's really the only language spoken on my planet... I guess I was just an item to be tested? Hahaha... I'm glad I met someone else that understands the English language huh? It's been pretty lonely for me now these days..."

Opal looked at Casper with pity on her face. Seeing him looking down with his wings made him look like a sad angel. She wasn't positive about what species he was though, so she wasn't making any conclusions right now.

He must've been all alone. How could he have managed to stay sane all this time? "I'm glad someone else can understand my first language as well. That's so interesting that they've developed a machine that ages down people... I need to look more into that.... oh, my name is Opal by the way. It's nice to meet you Casper. I hope we will become well aquatinted with each other," Opal held out her hand for a hand shake. "Thank you... you knew for saving me and all." Caper blushed and looked away with his beady eyes. "O-oh it really wasn't anything special.."

Opal had explained how she got to the planet and her story behind it all. Casper got a further understanding and came to a conclusion. "I'm trying to figure some more of his planet out as well... I actually forgot what my original planet looks like, since my memories are a little fuzzy, due of my age..." He scratched the back of his head and looked up at Opal.

"How do you say we pair up as a team? You know, so we can both get our happy endings a bit faster?"

Opal smiled at her new friend.

"I was actually about to ask you the same thing. Partner."

They both smiled as they planned a way to break into the capitol. Having a new friend was... very comforting in a way.
