Opal shivered as she woke up on her firm bed. Scraggly white hairs tickled her cheeks and ears. Her lips were chapped from the cold weather drifting through the small house, making her toss the thin blanket off and wake up. The girl walked into the living room as she discovered one of the windows slightly open, and assumed her room mate had forgot to close it. Opal quickly walked towards the window to shut it, the rusty window screeching at the movement. She rushed back to her bedroom to bury her cold feet in the blanket once more.

But when she did so she saw a feather fly up from the mattress.'Huh?'  The girl thought, waving her hands around in attempt to catch it. The feather landed on the floor from the little whirlwind she had caused, and she got a better look at the object.

It had a red splotch on part of it. Opal gently picked up the large feather and assumed it was one of Casper's. Her only concern was the blood.

The girl quickly rushed out her door to open the other room and enter without bothering to knock. The boy's long pearl lashes silkily sat on his porcelain skin, limbs tangled to cradle his head dripping with beads of sweat. Cloth was wrapped around his white wing, soaking up the blood, tainted a deep red. The girl put out the back of her palm to feel the male's head boiling with heat. Opal gently shook Casper awake as to not startle him.

Nnnn....nn..

Casper groaned as he slowly lifted his eyelids to only jump back, not being accustomed to the girl with lighter hair. "Sorry I thought you were a ghost haha..." He grabbed his forehead and furrowed his white brows. "Sorry for the scare... I'll make some tea for you, and when I come back with it I want an explanation," Opal pointed at the bloody cloth wrapped around the wing. "Thanks," Casper smiled at the girl as she walked out of the room, heading to the living room.

The problem was that they didn't exactly have a kitchen in the small house, but it did contain a fireplace and pots. Opal with the bucket in hand went outside with a thick piece of cloth, so the snow wouldn't affect her hands. As Opal scrubbed fresh snow on the bucket roughly she looked up at a tree to keep herself busy. The odd tree still looked pretty with a sheet of snow laying atop it. 'I guess some things never change, even on different planets. I guess trees look the most gorgeous when it's during snow fall...'

As the girl walked back inside she started a fire using the wood that was already in the fireplace. She had picked up a few twigs on her way along, but didn't have much hope for them to burn. A small fire started as she then put the bucket filled with fresh snow on a hook atop of it. To waste time Opal decided to read a book. She skimmed her hands against the different spines and looked over the titles and subjects. The girl stopped at a book about constructing technology. Opal slid the book out from its space and headed to her bedroom. She placed the book on top of her bed as she rummaged through a basket of her belongings. As a sharp piece of metal collided with her fingertips, she found what she was looking for.

Walking back towards the fireplace, she pulled out an old toolbox that was stored in a closet and placed Udo on the floor. The book was wide open to a specific page that explained how the vehicles she say flying around the capitol were made. She read over the text as she rummaged through the tool box and pulled out metal scraps with small screws. The girl crafted on the little robot, attempting to improve it's accuracy. After she heard the water boil over the fire, she took it off the hook quickly, slightly burning her hands. After the bucket cooled down she realized that she didn't have tea bags to put in the water. Damn. She filled two cups of warm water and headed towards Casper's room. "Sorry, I just realized that we don't have tea bags or honey. Do you mind at all?" The girl hesitantly handed the boy the warm cup, afraid of his refusal.

"What are tea bags?"

Opal stared at Casper blankly. I guess every planet has their own things to flavor tea? "Oh... well they are little pouches you put in your warm water to let it soak up the flavor. They are filled with seeds or powder, it makes it sweeter." Casper smiled at Opal.

"Maybe when we finish our missions, we can go back to Earth together."

Opal raised an eyebrow at the male's saying. "Don't you want to go back to your planet? What about your Nana?" Casper looked down to the floor. "Why would i go back if in the first place I was the one to run away? My planet is boring, and the people there are too restrictive. Yes, Ioved my Nana, I just didn't want to be the only person judged by being the only half-breed. It would only bring chaos." The room grew quiet. After a while Opal decided to attempt to make it less awkward. "So...What happened to your wing?" Opal looked at the now red cloth. "I scratched my wing on a piece of that breaking shed. Nothing more." Opal looked at the cloth more intensely. "Wash it and get a new cloth," the girl mumbled as she stood up to eave the room. "Uh...Can you help me? Please? The cloth kinda slid down from when i was running.. and I barely even noticed I was bleeding until this morning haha..." The girl let out a long sigh.

Opal soon came back to the room with a fresh piece of cloth, also the cooled down left over water that was in the bucket she boiled. She gently unraveled the cloth that was soaked in blood and put it aside. "Ouch..." Opal mumbled looking at the piece of wood stuck in the wing, soaking up the color in other feathers. "What?" Casper questioned nervously, expecting the worst. "It's ok... ah.. this might hurt a bit but I have to remove the wood from inside your wing." The Male nodded as to give Opal permission to do so.

After Opal had removed the wood pieces she felt terrible. She didn't like to hurt other people, especially her friends. She then gently rinsed the water on top of the wing with a sponge and wraps it up with the fresh cloth. "All done."
