Opal looked outside the little house while reading a book that studied the of life on earth. The memories came flowing back to her mind like painted colors. Remembering the scent of pine and hearing the crumpling of leaves as she stepped on them, the multiple red shades swirling around her feet. The buzzing of bees collecting pollen from the different colored flowers during summer. The fresh rainy scent during a drizzle, sprinkling the soil that was once dry. But her favorite season of all was Winter. The trees bald, but covered with a light sheet of glittering snow on each small branch. No annoying mosquitoes, or bees to sting you. Just the silent sound. Cold wind whistling in your ears, making them red on the tips. The snow crunching and turning into a compact bed to lay on top of. The feeling of the light freezing snow on your fingertips as you picked it up. Seeing each individual flake landing on your hair with the intricate designs, each one different. Getting a runny nose if you spent too much time outside. Scarf soaking from the snow sticking in between your warm neck and the yarn. Clunky boots that prevented you from running around at your fastest speed. Building snowmen and sledding down high hills.
Snow. Winter. Opal couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the small orbs falling from the sky. It still happened on this planet as well? Her sad grey eyes became glowing with happiness. The girl ran out the back door of the little house and started to dance out of joy. "Casper, Casper look! It's snowing!" Opal chanted like a little kid. Casper came following the girl out the back door after he was called, hitting his giant feather wings on the top of the door frame. The half angel-demon looked up at the sky, as the small snowflakes fell to the ground. "It hasn't fell this heavily before while the time I was here," the boy mumbled. The sides of his eyes crinkled in a happy manner as he observed the cheerful girl before him. "Woah! I can see the snowflakes clearly on you black wing Casper!" The girl walked close to observe the separate flakes landing on the obsidian colored wing. Opal picked a white snowflake on the wing and watched it immediately melt on her warm hand. "I'm glad it still snows here, Winter's the best season of them all!" Opal ran over to a tall tree and started to climb it. The tree was a bit different from the ones on earth. The wood on the trees were a dark purple tint and the leaves were shaped oddly like crumples pieces of soggy paper. The girl continued to climb to the top as Casper followed her up, but instead of climbing, spread his brilliant wings and caused the snow gathered around him to go swirling back up into the air. The force shook the tree as Opal clung on with all her might. The male sat on top of the tree on a tangle of branches. The girl climbed up to join him and observed her surroundings from the towering height.
"Woah!" Opal's jaw dropped at the beautiful sight. She could see the distant lights from the hill they were on top of, hidden by the billions of odd trees. The red wire lit up the city as she could see hundreds, maybe thousands of different shaped buildings. For a planet so advanced, it was impressive. "Udo be sure to take pictures," The girl whispered taking in her surroundings. The little robot flew from behind her ear and started to snap the surroundings. Luckily the girl had found materials to fix the little robot up a bit.
"Wanna sneak to the capitol?" The white haired male looked at the girl curiously, assuming they wouldn't be seen through the swirling harsh weather. "Let's do it." And so they went back into the little house and put on disguises. Casper handed Opal a heavy cloak that dragged on the ground below her cause of her short structure. She took pins and stuck them into the folds she made so that it wouldn't drag on the floor. She braided her shaggy brown hair so it wouldn't blow in her face. The boy wrapped cloth tightly around his body and wings. He would definitely be noticed and recognized with his different colored wings. There were different species on this planet with many bone structures, and when Casper wrapped the cloth around his wings and torso, it gave the illusion of high shoulder blades, which was pretty common on planet Jukla. "Your hair stands out a bit cause it's considered an unusual color here, but as long as you keep it covered with your hood it'll be fine." The girl looked at the boy with a questioning look. "All people here dye their hair an unusual color. Mostly pastels..." The girl stared at the boy for a long while. She took off her cloak and her braid out. "Do you have hair dye?" The male smiled at the girl. "I do~" The boy ran out of the room and came out with a white mixture. "Sit." He commanded, and the girl sat on the floor. After that, he proceeded to put in the bleach and let Opal's natural hair turn to a pale white. "What color would you like? I have grey, purple, pale pink, and light blue." The girl sat on the floor thinking for a long while. "Grey please."
