WARNING: Triggers for suicide and depression

Marlene McKinnon was a girl who loved her friends more than life itself. Loved them fiercely, determinedly, completely. Now that sort of love is wonderful and terrible at the same time. Because if you love someone - or in Marlene's case, five someone's by the names of Lily Potter, James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew - more than life, then what happens when they're gone? Love hurts, but when the person you love is there to reciprocate that love, it's bearable, just. But when they're not... When you can't hear their laughter, their crying, when you can't watch them and smile as they make a gesture so familiar - a tongue stuck out mischievously, perpetually messy ebony hair ruffled yet again, a sharp, angular face stretching as lips curled in a smirk, a nose scrunched up in concentration, a pair of hands fluttering about excitedly - what are you supposed to do? They're gone. Poof. Just like that. These people who you love with all of your heart, these people who are the life you love more than life itself. And once that life is taken away, you're already dead, aren't you? That was what Marlene told herself, day after day, until she couldn't take it anymore. So she took the pills instead.
