"So, I heard you slept with Louise Parker last night," Marlene said with a grin.
She stood over Sirius's chair with her arms folded and a smirk stretching across her pretty face.
"What's it to you, McKinnon," Sirius mumbled, bending further over the last minute Charms homework he was completing.
"I want details," Marlene announced.
"Well, you're not getting any."
Marlene sat down on the arm of Sirius's chair and plucked the quill from his hand. She gave him a cheeky smile and put her feet on his lap when he glared at her.
"How did it happen? Did you tell her you loved her?"
"I never tell girls I love them, Marlene. I'm not going to say 'I love' you until it's the real thing."
"Oooh so you're a romantic, Black," Marlene said and nudged him with her foot.
"Don't call me that," Sirius said with a scowl.
"Sorry." Marlene shut up for a few moments, and then just as Sirius was reaching for his parchment- "Was she good?"
Sirius groaned and shoved Marlene's feet off of him.
"Leave me alone, McKinnon."
"Nope," Marlene said brightly, and slid off the arm of the chair and into his lap.
"Fine." Sirius smoothed his parchment out over her legs and dipped his quill in the pot of ink sitting on the ground by his feet.
Marlene started to giggle as he wrote; the sharp nib of the quill tickled her leg through the parchment.
"For Merlin's sake, Marlene, what do you want!" Sirius exclaimed in exasperation.
"I want you to tell me what happened with Louise Parker," Marlene said.
Huffing in annoyance, Sirius turned his head to face her. Since she was on his lap, his face was now touching hers, and they both caught their breath at the same time, which gave Sirius an idea...
"Okay, I'll tell you what happened," he said slowly, and Marlene waited expectantly. "I asked if I could borrow a book from her, and she said yes, and took me up to her dormitory. Once she gave me the book, I sat down on her bed and complimented the posters she had put up, and we kept talking and then she sat down beside me and wrapped her arm around my waist, like this," Sirius said, and slipped his arm carefully around Marlene, his fingers gripping the woollen fabric of her school jumper. "And then, suddenly, she took out her hair, and let it fall around her shoulders, like this." Sirius reached up and gently tugged Marlene's hair out of its messy bun, letting the loose golden curls tumble down her back. He raked a hand through her long hair and she shivered. "And I could tell she was trying to get me to sleep with her-"
"Right, because that's what every girl wants; to sleep with Sirius Black," Marlene said, slightly breathlessly because Sirius had slid his hand along her thigh and his fingers were tracing the skin just beneath the hem of her skirt.
"Yes, of course," Sirius said, and moved in closer to Marlene. "So then, I leant into her, like this."
Marlene could feel her heart racing as his lips moved against her cheek.
"What did you do next?" She asked, and she was definitely breathless now.
"I kissed her," Sirius said simply. And he turned his head and opened his lips ever so slightly and-
"I've got to go!" Marlene cried, and leapt up from his lap.
She raced up to her dormitory and left Sirius smiling triumphantly to himself.
"Well that got rid of her," he said to himself.
But as he finished his essay about Cheering Charms, he was trying very hard to get Marlene's pink face and the smoothness of her thigh out of his mind. He imagined what it would have been like to kiss her. Then he pushed the thought from his mind. Even he, Sirius Black, wouldn't sleep with his best friend.
How wrong he was.
