Chapter 7 – I'm Not Mad

THE clock's alarm started ringing, making Joshua's eyes to slowly open. A new morning had come. He groggily got up while rubbing his eyes.

"Huh? She's gone?" he asked himself as he looked at his bed—where Joely was sleeping last night. The bed was empty, with its pillows and folded blanket that were properly arranged. Joshua then noticed a note as he laid his eyes on the study table. He walked towards that table and got the note.

Thank you for letting me stay here. I just went out through the window by using the rope we used last night. Anyway, have a great day!

"HOW is your thesis, Joshua?" Jeonghan asked Joshua as the professor dismissed the class. Anyway, Joshua was sitting beside Jeonghan.

"I haven't gone far," Joshua asked. "How about you?"

"The same with you. I have a problem with some parts and I need your help." Jeonghan pouted. "Can you help me, please? I don't know how to do it. How I wish it's a dual work and not individual." He pleaded.

Joshua lifted his eyebrows while thinking of how he could help his best friend. "I guess we could discuss that later. Let's go to my house?" he suggested.

Jeonghan's expression brightened. He thought that Joshua could help him with his thesis. "Call! It's been awhile since the last time I visited your house."

The two of them went together to Joshua's house. Jeonghan had been visiting Joshua's home when they had a time. Jeonghan was welcome in the family and Joshua's parents seemed to like Jeonghan as his friend. The same way with Joshua. Joshua was also welcomed to Jeonghan's family that's why the two of them got along really well.

"Jeonghan," Joshua called Jeonghan while they were walking side by side in his neighborhood.

"Why?"

"How does it feel when a person you barely know trusts you?" Joshua asked.

Jeonghan raised his eyebrow in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"We just met recently. Actually, we just met for only a day and a night. But this person trusts me."

"Well, I would feel special," Jeonghan answered. "Who's that person?"

Joshua just shook his head. "You don't need to know."

"Eyy... We're best friends but you're keeping secrets to me." Jeonghan sulkily said. "Who is he? Don't tell me he's a girl?"

"Y-yeah. She's... a girl."

Jeonghan's eyes widened. "Really!?"

Joshua nodded.

"So how did you feel when that girl said that she trusts you?"

Joshua felt something unfamiliar again. Whenever he thought of Joely and about her trusting him, he couldn't help to feel unusual in him. He looked at Jeonghan who was waiting for his answer. "Something's strange." He just answered.
