Chapter 10 – Whom I Like

JOSHUA made his way on the bed as the clock struck 10. He draped the blanket over his body. He was then looking at the ceiling, worry was written all over his face.

It's been a week since Joely did not enter his room. The last time he saw her was the night when they, including Jeonghan, went to the night market. Usually, he always found her lying comfortably on his bed as he went home from school. But these past days, he always found his room without her presence. At first, he did not mind Joely's disappearance. But it's already consecutive days that Joely was not there to keep him company. He felt incompleteness all of a sudden.

Admittedly, Joshua was missing Joely so terribly. He was always hoping for her to show up or only to peek in his room just to know how he was doing. But he was just making his hopes up, resulting him to feel disappointed as time went by.

"I can't believe that I'm worried about a girl I don't really know." He said, sighing. That's true. How much did he know about Joely? Who was Joely? Who was her to him? What was her to him? A lot of questions were running in his mind. He's being more curious about Joely.

Joshua took a peek at his window. The window was still unlocked and the rope was still hanging there. Good thing that no one, with the exception of Joely, had planned to break in his room.

Pondering his thoughts about Joely, sleep took over Joshua.

"WOAH! It's time to eat!" Jeonghan started digging in his food after he said those words. Classes made him tired and feel famished.

Joshua let out a small laugh as he saw his friend eating like there's no tomorrow. He somehow understood Jeonghan because their classes were exhausting that he plotted to just sleep. Of course, he could not do that. He got manners and he was always regarded as one of the best students in the class.

He was eating his food when his eyes caught her outside the place. They were currently in the cafeteria and the entrance was closed with the glass door so he was able to see the people outside. He was about to stand up and run towards her but he was stuck on his position when he realized that she was not Joely.

Being in the daze because of that hallucination, Jeonghan poked his cheek. "What's the matter?"

"I thought it's her.." Joshua answered in a lower voice that Jeonghan did not manage to hear his response.

"What? Did you see something? Or someone?" Jeonghan asked, roaming his eyes around the cafeteria particularly at the entrance.

"N-nothing."

"Oh come on, Josh. Just tell me what it is. You've been in deep thoughts these past days." Jeonghan stated. "Do you think I won't notice?" he then continued eating his food.

"Joely.." Joshua muttered.

Jeonghan stopped eating as he heard the name. "Joely?"

Joshua nodded.

"What about Joely?" Jeonghan asked in curiosity.

"She's not showing up after our last hang out with her."
