Chapter 14  Still Out of My Reach

"I'm okay (I'm not okay)
I don't want to see you ( I really want to see you)
I have to say, say these lies that don't even come from my heart."

IT'S really Joely...

Joshua thought as he realized that he did not have any more feelings towards Jenny. When he saw her after a long time, he immediately noticed that he felt lighter than his last meeting with her, considering that he had their past and got hurt from being cheated on.

"It's been a long time." Jenny said, slowly approaching him.

"Yeah." Joshua agreed. "So you're still studying at the same university." He stated as he noticed that Jenny was wearing a uniform of the university they were enrolled before he moved to Korea.

"You're right." Jenny agreed. "When did you come back?"

"Just 2 weeks ago."

"Are you.. perhaps.. staying here for good?"

Joshua shook his head. "I will just finish my master's here. I will come back to Seoul as soon as I finish."

"I see.." Jenny said, nodding her head. "So are you enrolled in the college of graduate studies at the same university, too?"

Joshua nodded.

Jenny smiled. "Then you really fulfill the plan you told me before."

Flashing a small smile, Joshua nodded. He understood what Jenny was talking about. He planned to get his master's degree at the university so that they could be together.

But it's different now. Joshua only fulfilled that plan because that's what he wanted—without the involvement of Jenny. When he realized how meant Joely was to him, he only thought the future of being with her and not with any other girl—not even Jenny.

Joshua still couldn't help to feel the aching of his left chest whenever he thought of Joely. It's been a year already but he was still keeping his hopes up—that he might still meet Joely. He even thought that Joely might be staying in LA too and that they could meet again.

"Are you going to school now?" Joshua woke from thinking Joely as Jenny asked him that question. "You seem in a daze. Are you okay?"

"I'm okay. And yeah, I'm on the way to school." Joshua answered. "How about you?"

"Same," Jenny answered. "Could we go together?"

Joshua smiled lightly. "Sure."

The two of them started walking side by side to school. Joshua could feel the plain feeling being with Jenny again. He did not feel anything special at all and it was really different when she was still his girl. He felt like he was walking with a friend. That's it.

"Time went fast," Jenny said out of the blue. Joshua looked at her in curiosity. "You're a bachelor's degree graduate and now taking a master's degree. As for me, I'm in the last year in college. Time is really fast. It was like only yesterday when we met during high school."
