After changing back into my clothing, I told Edmond that I wished to speak to Sister Adèle before returning to his home. He said that it was fine as he joined me when I had gone to her own personal office. As a teacher, Sister Adèle had an office, one of which she shared with two of the other Sisters making it a rather cramped spacing, and none of them outwardly did not seem to mind from what I could tell.
When Sister Adèle saw me, she gave a smile of relief that I was alright.
"I am truly sorry for the trouble I have caused Sister," I told her as she walked with me down the dark hallway of the school. With Edmond not being to far behind, he was back enough to give us some form of privacy, even though I knew well enough that Edmond could hear every word that was spoken between us. "I did not mean to worry you and the others."
"Nothing of the sort my dear, I am just grateful that you are feeling much better."
"Still, to be in such a state, I can only blame it on stress after all that has happened in such a short amount of time."
"You are at a critical time in your life, and with the terrible events that have come into your path that God has placed in front of you, you have done all that you could to move past it."
I remained silent, I did not wish to speak against her words when it came to God. I also remained silent for the slight sense of guilt that gnawed at me, I was lying to Sister Adèle. To someone who was as kind as her I felt guilty not giving the whole truth in my fainting.
"Thank you for cleaning my clothes, Edmond told me that it was you who did so." I said quickly changing the topic to the clothes I now wore. "I am sure you probably have questions when you saw my injury."
Sister Adèle however, was not phased in the least. "Oh no, after what Edmond told me, I understood. Though it was a little odd considering where you were hurt, with the way it looked I am surprised you did not end up in the hospital." I cast a glance to Edmond, who also seemed rather embarrassed or uncomfortable by the notion. But then she said something rather odd that caught both of our attention. "However, when I thought on it, I do recall that another Sister had the same type of injury to her only on her arm. But she cannot recall as to how she had received it. You would think with where the injury was the one who received it would know."
Both Edmond and I cast each other a knowing look before I asked. "Someone else had what I do?"
"Yes, though it healed within a matter of weeks. Many of us were worried since she would sometimes faint from exerting herself too much. We believed it was due to a lack of proper foods. After all she was a rather light eater."
"Is she still here?"
Sister Adèle shook her head. "No, she was transferred to Rome, shortly after she became well again. It was at the behest of one of the Priests. In fact, it was rather sudden."
I became silent for a moment then recalled something of which that still drifted in the remints of my memory of a voice that I thought to have heard while after I collapsed but I had thought it only a dream or hallucination due to lack of blood. "Edmond had told me that it was a Priest that had found me when two girls called for help. Is this true?"
Edmond frowned when I looked at him over my shoulder, but my attention was fixed on that of Sister Adèle, as I merely waited for her answer.
