The Hospital

"Madison... um..." the doctor hesitated. "For crying out loud doctor just tell us." Yelled her mom. "We had some complications... we uh did everything we could." The doctor said. "Well uh is she ok?" I asked crying. "Well uh... no there's a machine breathing for her. It's making her heart beat." Said the doctor. "Doctor what are you saying?" Asked her dad wiping his tears. "She's not going to make it." He said. We all started crying. "She can be on the machine for as long as you'd like to but eventually you will have to take her off." Said the doctor. "No I-I can't she's my daughter I'm not going to pull the plug no that's it she's going to stay on that. She will get better I believe that." Said the mom. "If you wish." The doctor said and walked away. "Mr and Mrs. Hills I'm so sorry this is my fault. I made her go to the party and I left her side I broke the promise" I said. "Yes Shawn it is you're fault. I think you should leave." Said Andrew. I nodded and walked out of the waiting room. I sat down on the bench outside the hospital.

🌒 1 year later 🌒

It's been different since everything happened to Madison. School isn't the same without her. I go visit her everyday before her family gets there and after they leave.They don't really like me. It's fine though I wouldn't either. I talk to Madison everytime I visit. The doctor says I'm the only one who talks to her. I know we aren't dating but I give her a kiss on the head before I leave and when I get there. I even pay tye medical bills without the family knowing. I told the doctor to say its the insurance paying for this and they dont have to. It's a Saturday by the way. I'm on my way to see her right now.

I arrive at the hospital. I get flowers out and I put them in a vase next to her bed. I give her a kiss on the forehead. I start talking to her. "Hey Mads it's Shawn again. Please get better. I can't live without you." I say. The doctor comes in. "Shawn" She says. "Yeah doc?" I ask. "The family signed the papers. They don't believe she will get better." She says. "Papers for what?" I ask concerned. "We take her off the machine tomorrow. I'm sorry." She says. "What time?" I ask her. "3 am that's the scheduled time." She said. How can they do this to her? Do they even care anymore? It's now night time and I have to go home. I get up give Madison a kiss on her head. "Bye Madison I love you." I say. I walk out of the hospital and get in my car. I drive to my house and go to sleep.

The next morning I wake up and I see that I have a missed call. I listen to the voice mail.

Hello Shawn this is Madison's doctor we need you to cone by right away. Something happened.

I got ready and went as fast as I could to the hospital. I found the biggest shock of my life.
