Jack groaned, holding Copeland at arms length as she wailed. Nick held back giggles while Justin all but wet himself laughing. Vic rolled his eyes, setting Rowan on Gabe's lap before taking Copeland from Jack's hands. Her crying immediately ceased slightly as she nestled into Vic's chest.

"She's teething. She just needs some love and something to suck on." Nick finally let the laughs out and Justin cackled loudly, even Gabe snickered quietly. "Oh, grow up!" Vic yelled, unable to hold back his own smile as he carried the baby upstairs. The kids' room was set up with two single beds and Copeland's crib, their bags all in one corner.

Kellin was sat on one of the beds with Liam wrapped up in a duvet. The little boy was shaking, cuddled into Kellin's side while his dad sang quietly. The pale boy looked up upon hearing Vic enter the room.

"He's really not well, Vee." Kellin sighed, holding his son close to him. Vic frowned, getting Copeland a plastic toy from her bag. Her crying stopped as soon as she had the toy in her mouth and Vic let out a sigh of relief.

"Has he had Calpol?"

"As much as I can give him. Gabe said he has Tylenol if Lee needs it." Vic nodded, sitting down on the edge of the bed.

"That's all you can do then, Kells. We can take him to the doctor tomorrow if he doesn't feel better in the morning." Kellin nodded, looking at the hispanic boy with pure worry in his eyes. "Come downstairs and watch a film, stressing isn't going to help either of you." The pale boy nodded again, letting his eyes slip shut momentarily as Vic kissed his forehead. "C'mon, I'll carry him down."

It was late, maybe one o'clock in the morning. Vic still hadn't slept, his anxiety over Liam's illness keeping him awake. He had only known the family for six months but they had had such a big impact on his life. Jaime was one of the only other people who had ever gotten this close to him -in a completely platonic way, of course. Danielle was the other one. She had had him on strings for years, playing him like a puppet and slowly pulling him closer until one day she just cut the ties and walked away. He had kept his distance from relationships since then, he didn't want to fall for someone only to be hurt.

But Kellin was different. He, too, had had his heart broken, hell, he had three kids as a constant reminder of the heartbreak. If anyone understand Vic's fear of falling in love it was Kellin. A knock on the door pulled him from his thoughts.

"Come in." The pale boy pushed the door open, holding Liam on the hip.

"He won't stop shaking, Vee, and I can't get him to sleep."

"C'mere." Vic mumbled, lifting up the duvet.

"A-are you sure? I don't want to intrude, I just didn't know what to do."

"Kells, get in. You need to sleep." Kellin nodded, climbing into the bed and setting Liam in the middle. Vic pressed a kiss to the small boy's forehead, smiling as Liam spread himself out between the two men. "What are you doing, lovebug?" Vic chuckled as Liam looked up at him with wide eyes and giggled. Kellin smiled, running a hand through Liam's hair.

"Time to sleep, baby." Kellin whispered, bringing Liam to lie down next to him. Vic smiled, watching as Liam cuddled into Kellin's side, yawning quietly. The small boy pressed a kiss to Kellin's cheek, mumbling an 'I love you' to his dad. He turned to Vic's side, climbing onto the older man's chest. He pressed a kiss to Vic's nose before nestling his head in the crook of the hispanic man's neck.

Kellin smiled, looking across at his son. His heart swelled at how good Vic was with his kids. They had never warmed up to someone so quickly, they had known Kellin's childhood friends nearly as long as they had known Kellin and even then they were still shy around them sometimes.

"Thank you." Kellin smiled, reaching across to hold Vic's hand.

"What for?" Vic whispered, bringing Kellin's hand to his lips and pressing a kiss to it.

"Looking after us. I don't know where I'd be without you."

"You know, I never got that kiss." Vic pouted, squeezing Kellin's hand.

"Maybe in the morning, get some sleep, Vee." Vic held his arm up, letting Kellin cuddle into his side.

"Goodnight, love." Vic whispered, kissing Kellin's forehead. The pale boy smiled. He had managed to open up to Vic about his past and everything was okay. He was finally happy.
