🌊"What am I seeing here?" Gabe muttered as he walked past Vic to the coffee machine. The hispanic boy was shirtless, wearing a 'kiss the cook' apron and singing the bacon pancakes song from Adventure Time. He added another pancake to one of the nine stacks, three of them being far smaller for the kids.
"Is it too much? You see, I was hungry for pancakes and I thought 'what if everyone else is hungry for pancakes?' but I couldn't be bothered to put a shirt on because it's far too hot here compared to Scotland and y'know I quite like the apron." Gabe chuckled and shook his head, taking a seat at the breakfast bar.
"How's Liam?"
"I think he's good. Kells is getting them all dressed and he still wants to take Lee to the doctors but honestly, it's probably just a fever and they'll only tell us to do what we've already been doing." Vic shrugged, adding bacon to the pan.
"We're keeping Vic!" Justin shouted as he walked into the kitchen.
"No you're not! I need him!" Kellin's voice sounded from the lounge room and Vic grinned.
"You hear that? My boy needs me." Justin rolled his eyes, grabbing a piece of bacon from the pan. "Hey!" Vic yelped, swatting Justin away from the cooker.
"Besides, if Vee stayed Liam would want to stay and you do not want to have to put up with Li-" Kellin almost choked as he rounded the corner into the kitchen. "Wh-why... why are you shirtless?" He sputtered, trying to look anywhere but at Vic. Justin held back laughter as Kellin's face turned crimson. The red-faced boy turned around, unable to pull his eyes from Vic's arms without doing so.
"Do you not like me shirtless?" Vic pouted, moving to wrap his arms around Kellin's waist from behind. The pale boy's breath hitched and Gabe chuckled. "I still haven't had that kiss." Kellin blushed and pushed Vic off him.
"Well, you're not gonna get it now, you'll burn the bacon!" Vic rolled his eyes and let Kellin go, turning to make sure the bacon didn't burn. He narrowed his eyes as Kellin blew a kiss to him from across the room. "Vee." Kellin sighed, pouting slightly.
"Gabe can you sort breakfast?" Vic mumbled, holding Kellin's hand and leading him out of the room.
"Vic, what the fuck." Kellin hissed once they were in the utility room, out of earshot to almost everyone downstairs.
"What do you mean 'what the fuck'?!"
"You're being a massive dick! What have I done?" Vic sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"I'm sick of you pushing me away." His voice shook, every buried emotion being brought to the surface. "I've put my life on hold for you, Kells. I constantly give up my time for you and the kids and I feel like I'm not getting anything back. For fucks sake, Kellin. Do those kids even know who I am?" Tears were pricking at his eyes. It was Danielle all over again and the sudden realisation had him on the edge of a break down.
But Vic didn't realise Kellin was there as well. He was on the edge with him. Holding his handing and telling him 'we're in this together' and 'you'll never be alone again'. Because it was the truth. After Vic told him what happened with Danielle, Kellin promised himself to support the older boy through whatever may come their way. But by now salty tears where tribbling down Vic's cheeks.
Kellin sighed, bringing Vic's hands into his own. Vic had been with him through everything and in some ways the older boy was right, Kellin hadn't given him anything back. He was too scared to show Vic just how much he meant to him no matter how much keeping his affection hidden hurt both of them.
The pale boy pulled his love into his arms, finally being the one offering the comfort. Yes, his anxiety was gnawing away at him and he knew as soon as he tried to speak his stutter would interrupt, but the boy he was so deeply infatuated with was hurting and he wanted nothing else than to help him heal. He stood on his tiptoes, burying his face in Vic's neck, taking a deep breath and mentally preparing himself to talk.
"Y-You are so important to me. B-But I'm scared. I'm scared that if we get close you- you'll leave me. A-And I don't know what I'd do without- without you."
"Love, I'm not leaving, we just need some time to make sure we're on the same page."
