"It's nearly christmas, what the fuck am I supposed to get him?" The harbour had reached a still point. Doug was drinking from a dish at Tony's feet as the two men sat on crates and sipped coffee from thermos flasks. Everything was covered in a light sheen of frost and it would most certainly be snowing by the start of December.

"I don't know, Vic, something he can keep forever." Tony sighed and pulled Doug into his lap.

"I already got him a kitten. Anyway, it's easy for you, you can just get Mike some new drumsticks and sex and you're all good."

"That's not true! I have to at least take him on a date before the sex." He laughed and scratched behind his dog's ear. Vic chuckled and shook his head.

"You're an ass, Antonio."

"Ew, don't call me that!"

"Cesar Antonio Perry Soto."

"Victor! Pack it in!" Vic laughed and scratched Doug's head. "I need to ask you about something."

"Yea?"

"What would you say if I proposed to Mike?"

"Are you serious?" Tony shuffled uncomfortably and nodded, Vic's serious side unnerving him. "He's eighteen, Tone."

"I know, I know. But I really love him. Yea, we're both young but it's been three years and I know he's the one." Vic smiled sadly and wrapped an arm over Tony's shoulders.

"I'm happy for you, bro. You better marry him so hard."

"I will, Vic, don't you worry."

🌊

Snow covered the front yard of Vic's house. The three kids were bundled up in thick coats and scarves, gloves on their hands and hats pulled over their ears. Kellin was playing in the snow with them while Vic gazed fondly at them through the window.

A fire was crackling in the living room, the christmas tree twinkling and an array of presents huddled under it. All of the boys were spending christmas at Vic's, Jaime was bringing his girlfriend Jess, Tony and Mike were staying for the day before flying to spend new year's eve with Tony's parents, and Vic's dad was spending the whole holiday period with them. In short, their house was full to the brim.

"All the present done, Vic?"

"Yea, Pa. I've just got to get pyjamas for the kids when they come back in, but other than that everything's perfect."

"You care for those little ones a lot."

"They're like my own kids now." Vic chuckled, turning around from his place at the window. His father smiled and wrapped a bit of tinsel over his shoulders. They both laughed before settling with tired smiled on their faces.

"The sooner you tell him you love him the easier it gets." Victor spoke softly, holding onto his son's forearms.

"I know, Papa. But he's not even my boyfriend yet, he's been through so much I can't keep throwing my feelings at him."

"He loves you too, son." Vic shook his head, a sad smile on his lips. "Trust me, I can feel it in my bones. Call it intuition, my dear boy." Vic chuckled and pulled his father into a hug.

'to Papa, from Row, Lee & Coco' Tears pricked at Vic's eyes as Liam handed him a present. He pressed a kiss to the small boy's forehead before slowly unwrapping the gift. It was a small necklace with the three children's handprints indented into the dogtag attached to the chain.

"Thank you, babies." Rowan and Liam grinned and hugged him, Copeland giggling from her place on his lap as he pressed kisses to her cheeks. He reached across the sofa and squeezed Kellin's hand in thanks.

"What other presents are there, Lee?"

"One for Uncle Hime and Jessie. Um, one for Uncle Mikey and Tone and one for Grandpa."

"Do Jess and Hime's first, Lion," Liam nodded and passed everyone their presents, grinning as they opened them. Vic smiled, watching as Liam bounced around in joy. That boy had changed his life and he just prayed he would be able to stay with Kellin and watch the three children grow up.
