He checked the time on his phone. "7:12 pm" was the time. He then asked me if I wanted to go to the gas station in a few hours or something for a food run. We normally do food runs when he stays over for food such as chips, soda, fruit (guess who gets that), and that good stuff. I'm fine with it except we usually go when it's still light out. Not at 9 pm or something.
"But... It's dark then. Not safe!" I stuttered
"Ok ok, if you don't want to we don't have to." He responded.
And now, of course, I feel obligated to go. I don't know why this I'm so hesitant. What could happen? I just have a gut feeling, but it's fine.
"*sighs* No it's fine, we can go"
"Ok, cool."
Not even an hour has passed and we were already on our way. He started blasting music, which wasn't a great idea at nearly 8 pm. I always loved when he did things that got me mad. It's what made things fun. The only stories I'll have to tell my grandkids are the ones he created.
He pulled over into the parking lot and we stepped out of the car. I stopped for a minute because it smelled heavily of flowers... And it was then I realized, guess who was here? Rachel.  She was walking out of Fuel Stop the gas station and turned her focus towards me.
"Hey Mia! Ethan! What're you guys doing here so late?"
"Just making a food stop, what're you doing here so late?" Ethan replied in a jokingly manner.
"My group's back at the house so I'm pickin' up some lotto and candy, haha. I'm kind of obsessed with Twix."
"Oh, cool. Well, see you around." Ethan said as he waved, and I followed.
   "Bye!"
   We started towards the door.
