I didn't hear Ethan or any sign of him for that whole ride. It made me scared. What would I do if I didn't have him? I still can't think like that. It'll be ok. The man made a sharp left turn onto a rocky, abandoned road and I shifted in my seat. I haven't seen anyone for miles now. He was also a very crazy driver. Sudden stops, sharp turns, etc.
He started creepily slowing down in front of an old log cabin, in the middle of a green field. Weird. I froze up when he stopped the car and put it in park. He swiftly turned around and said,
"Welcome home. Not everything lasts forever. Sometimes forever only lasts one second."
What the heck. What was the point of saying sometimes forever only lasts one second? Was he going to kill us in "one second"? A few seconds have gone by so I knew I was being a little paranoid. Can you blame me?
He told me to stay here and proceeded to walk to the trunk, where Ethan was. Oh my, I was praying to see Ethan so bad. It had felt like forever. I guess being scared makes you hungry too, because my stomach growled. I didn't want the man to hear, but he turned around anyways. His focus went back and remained on the trunk.
I saw him through the back window, pulling something out of the trunk onto the gravel. It was Ethan! In one piece too! I wanted to scream for joy, and help, but I couldn't. He untied Ethan's hands out of the rope, which I had not known he put on him. He has raw bracelets around his wrists, but he was ok.
