I walked to the kitchen table, but stopped at Ethan's door on the way and peered in. He wasn't there. This could either be good or bad, and each one will end good, or bad. When I reached the table, Ethan wasn't there. I sat down and stared at the food. Eggs, milk, and bacon. Funny, I'm still not eating that. Not yet.
"I'm not hungry. Where's Ethan?"
"You're going to have to eat sometime, but Ethan is in the bathroom."
"He's been in the bathroom for quite a long time if I must say."
And then he walked over to us. He sat down and started eating the food. I just stared at him, not because it was animals, but because of poison. Did the sedation have a little extra in it for him? Weird thing is, Ethan didn't look at me, talk to me, acknowledge me, or anything. I'm starting to get curious.
"How did you sleep, Ethan?" I emphasized the "sleep".
"Good." He said and then went back to eating.
I'm going in his room after breakfast. I was thirsty and hungry, so if the food doesn't effect Ethan, I will ask the man for almond milk and vegetables. I hope he doesn't decide to take out a gun and shoot me like that lady. I didn't move for the rest of breakfast. This isn't breakfast, this is a murderer trying to feed us in the morning. Call it whatever you want.
"Go to your rooms now. I'll call you down for dinner."
"Ok." Ethan responded.
I headed towards my room and gestured for him to come in mine, but he looked and ignored it. He went into his room and I followed him. He sat on his bed and I sat on a chair that was in his room. His room also had a window, why? Why not me?
"Ethan, why the hell are you being buddy-buddy with this man?"
"I'm not, I'm just happy we're not dead and being fed. How lucky are we, seriously?" He asked.
"We are very lucky, but don't get too nice with this man or else we won't be lucky. Don't ignore me, ever again, too. Good things turn into catastrophe, and I can't lose you."
"You won't." He said as he stood up and hugged me.
I started to shed a tear, but managed to say, "we have to stay close, Ethan."
