Jess had never been to Pennsylvania before. It was Pittsburgh, and All Time Low was doing a show here tonight. She was just doing some exploring in town before then. This was the second week of tour, and she was having a pretty good time. There were people she met everywhere, who said at least one thing to make her think. People just on the streets and after shows with wise words she felt honored to have heard. So, this trip wasn't so bad. The guys were fun. Rowdy and loud, but fun. She didn't participate in most of the stuff they did. She was uptight now, as they were beginning to tease her. She didn't pay any attention to it. Having graduated high school and it being a summer without band practice or any responsibilities, she felt at ease. All she wanted to do was travel and explore, and the guys gave her that perfect opportunity. She couldn't be more thankful.
Really, she was thinking a lot about how she felt at graduation. Alex was put here for all of them for a reason, but by whom? She did a lot of reading up about higher powers, and none of it seemed like it could possibly be real to her. Yet, she wanted to think that this was the doing of something greater. She didn't just get this lucky, because luck isn't real either. She decided to give it up, and just believe something did do this for them. She had faith, but in what exactly? She wasn't really sure, she'd find out when she died.
Watching All Time Low perform that night was great. They sounded amazing, and even performed a new song from their new album they're working on. Alex had opted to call it So Wrong, It's Right, and the guys agreed with the name of course. It was a super summery album. The feel of it was too good. Jess loved it herself, of course she hadn't really heard the whole thing yet. Watching Alex create songs and record songs was awesome. She could tell he put so much heart into it. It made her fall in love even more, and really made her long for something to be as passionate about as Alex. Hopefully criminal justice was that for her. Their new album should be out by next year, they were recording lots of songs, and trying to find the best ones to put on the album. Alex was spiting out lyrics like crazy. When they were in cities to play that night, they stopped to record as much as they could, as much time as they could fit in.
"Jess," Alex nudged her. She looked at him, signaling to him that she was listening. "Let's go do something. We don't leave for the next city until tomorrow morning. Come on."
"Like where?" She asked. He shrugged.
"It's a surprise."
"You know I don't like surprises." She mumbled, recalling her birthday.
"Just think of the future." He grabbed her hand and pulled her along somewhere. They walked the streets of Pittsburgh, hand in hand. Jess had seen this all before earlier, but Alex pulled her onto a different route eventually. Into a restaurant that served Italian, her favorite. Right now, the guys were making pretty good money so the extra they didn't spend on touring and music expenses were used to treat themselves.
"So, why drag me here, late at night?" She asked. Honestly, they were both surprised it was still open. They just happened to find it, and Alex had the money and knew she loved Italian.
"I don't know, I just wanted to do something with only you, and then when I saw this opportunity to do this for you, I took it." He shrugged, mixing his spaghetti up.
"There's more to it, I can tell." She raised her eyebrow at him. He let out a sigh, but still there was a small smile on his face. He was amused by the fact that she knew him so well. Either way, what he was thinking wasn't so bad he just didn't know if he could say it or not.
"I was thinking about moving close to campus, getting my own apartment, so we can be closer together." He blurted out, and she stopped what she was doing abruptly. She looked at him a minute.
