Alex's Birthday

All Time Low was over half way through their very first tour. It was a memorable experience, and rather frightening at times. Like when they were driving and accidentally slid a bit on a patch of ice. Which obviously meant they shouldn't really be driving, but the show must go on. Or at least that was the way they thought of it. So far, it had been really successful. Playing to over a hundred people every night and hearing some even sing along, it was the best. Even though they wish they had crowds like Green Day, they knew they had to have patience, and that playing to a hundred people was at least better than none, one, or even ninety-nine. They were making a bit of money, selling CD's and one shirt design they came up with. Which Zack was pretty proud of, because everyone loved it and he created it. They met people at their merch booth every night, and even met some who were really big fans of them. That was so cool to them, knowing that people were actually big fans of them and were following them around on this tour. They had groupies.

"Groupies?" Jess replied, kind of frightened by that.

"Yes, actual groupies who are following us around on this tour. Big fans who just want to see us. You seem weird about that?" Jack questioned, noticing the tone of her voice.

"It's nothing, I mean.. I don't know. Do you guys talk to them?" She asked.

"Yeah, and we know all of them and their names. They're pretty cool. I think they're kinda in love with us, Alex most of all cause he's the only decent looking one, I mean aside from me." Jack snorted. Jess hummed in response. "Oh, come on Jess. Don't tell me you're jealous of all of them. They're groupies."

"So? Groupies are cool. I would be one if I didn't actually have a future to fight for." She rolled her eyes.

"Jess, listen. Why be jealous of a bunch of girls who haven't showered like this whole time. And, besides, it's just me." He snorted again. Jack had one of the most precious laughs, but sometimes it got on Jess's nerves.

"I'm talking about Alex, Jack. I trust him, I do, I just.. I'm scared and I have trust issues after Nick. Okay? Is that so hard to understand? Like.. I don't know what to do but I don't want to seem stupid and tell Alex I'm jealous of these girls." She rambled and finished with a sigh.

"So, you know it's stupid? To be jealous of them?" He asked.

"I'm not even jealous of them, I'm afraid of them." She mumbled.

"You're afraid they'll take Alex from you?"

"Basically, yeah. I mean, I'm not even that great of a girlfriend, I have all these issues and stuff. I hardly look decent even on a good day. Alex would be better off with a groupie honestly, but I'm selfish and only I want him. So, I'm scared he'll realize he'd be better off and then I won't have him anymore." She explained.

He sighed. "Jess, none of what you said about yourself is true. Listen, sometimes you just gotta look in the mirror and tell yourself you're a pretty princess. It works, I do it once a week."

"Jack, can't you be serious for one second?" She groaned.

"I can, I just was for like this whole phone call. Really, though, Alex is with you because he likes you. Because you're gorgeous, and you're a good person. You're funny and great. Smart and talented. Anyone would be lucky to have you. Some people are just too dumb to see that, but I know Alex isn't. Everyone sees the way he looks at you, Jess. He loves you." He assured her.

"Don't say that, that he loves me." She sighed.

"Sorry, but it's true." He shrugged to himself. "Hey, who are you talking to?" "No one, Alex, go away." "You're talking to someone, tell me who." "None of your business." Jack groaned. Then, there was muffled arguing, to which Jess assumed Alex was trying to fight Jack for the phone. Finally, someone said something.
