"Bacon, egg and cheese on English muffin," Lexa said resolutely. Clarke smiled.

"You seem to always know what you want," Clarke observed.

"And I usually get it, too." She smirked. "So what looks good to you?" Clarke moaned in irritation.

"I just don't know. Everything sounds so fucking good right now."

"What are you considering?"

"Pancakes, French toast, eggs benedict, breakfast burrito-"

"Woah," Lexa cut in. "You really can't make decisions, can you?" She smiled. Clarke matched her smile.

"Yeah," she sighed.

"So, imagine the taste of the pancakes in your mouth.

"What?" Clarke asked, amused by the idea.

"Trust me." That was all it took. "Now close your eyes, and imagine the taste of pancakes in your mouth." Clarke closed her eyes. Soon, she was smiling.

"Now think about the French toast." Another smile from Clarke. "You see where I'm going with this?" Clarke nodded her head in response. After a few more smiles, she opened her eyes.

"French toast. With strawberries." Finally confident in her decision, Clarke closed the menu. Lexa chuckled.

"See what happens when you trust me," she said, smiling. Clarke met her gaze and smiled. It was nice that Lexa was finally looking her in the eyes for longer than a few seconds. Clarke smiled at this thought.

"What can I get for you?" Clarke was so enthralled in Lexa that she jumped a little when the waitress spoke. This made Lexa laugh.

"I'll  have the breakfast sandwich with bacon and Swiss on an English muffin."  The waitress, whose name Lexa noticed was Sheri from a green name tag on her uniform.

"And for you?" Sheri asked, turning to Clarke.

"French toast with strawberries, extra powdered sugar," Clarke responded. Sheri nodded, writing it down on her pad.

"Anything to drink for you ladies this morning?"

"Apple juice," Clarke and Lexa said simultaneously. They looked at each other and smiled.

"Shall I bring out a carafe then?"

"Yes, please," Lexa replied. Sheri nodded again, writing the last of the order on her pad.

"I'll have that brought out real shortly for you." With that, she left Lexa and Clarke to gaze at each other again. And there wasn't much more than that for several moments. They just took each other in, enjoying one another's company. Suddenly, Lexa smiled mischievously. Clarke raised an eyebrow in curiosity. The brunette stood up and walked over to Clarke.

"M'lady," she said, holding out her hand. Clarke brought down her other eyebrow in a furrow. But she took Lexa's hand anyway. With a pull, she had the blonde on her feet. Clarke chuckled, curiosity burning inside her. Lexa led her to an open space right in front of a speaker. She put on hand on Clarke's waist and held out the other. Clarke went along, brow still furrowed. It was only when Lexa took her other hand and held it up that Clarke finally realized what was going on. And it made her smile.

They began to sway slowly back and forth. The song was a slow, jazzy remake of "The Nearness of You." Clarke was not used to this kind of treatment from a woman. But she let it happen. She let the music seep into her and kept her eyes on Lexa, who was smiling.

"You're so incredible," Clarke said. Lexa's smile faded slightly into one of awe. Lexa herself had not been treated this way by anyone except....She didn't want to think about that. The fear might take her over. She didn't want that. She wanted to spend every moment with Clarke appreciating her and loving her to the best of her ability. Loving. Shit.
