It Begins
Christina’s POV
“Are you that happy??” Tanong sa akin ni Hayes. Nasa kotse na kami nila Hayes at pauwi na. Ihahatid niya ko siyempre.
“Of course.”
“Why do you like him so much??”
“Ano ka ba? Para namang hindi mo alam.” Then I smile…
Many Months Ago…
“Hayes?!!!” Anu ba yan?? Naliligaw na ata ako. Nakakatakot yung lugar na to. Bakit bakasi gusto kong mamasyal sa Luneta ng wala si Grandma, si Mommy o si Daddy. Naman, si Hayes kasi eh, kanina lang nasa likod ko yun eh… at bakit ba kasi ako nandito sa eskinita na to???
Kauuwi ko pa lang galing states eh. Naman!!! GRANDMA!!!
“Nawawala ka ba??” Isang lalaking di ko makita ang mukha. Nakasumbrero kasi ako eh at nakayuko ako ngayon. Naka pants at t-shirt lang ako. “Kanina ka pa paikot-ikot eh.”
“Uy.” Hinawakan niya ko!!! SA KAMAY!!!
“Ano ba?! Wag mo kong hawakan.” Inalis ko yung kamay niya.
“Aba?? Ikaw na nga lang ang tinutulungan eh.” Hinawakan niya ulit yung kamay ko.
“Ano ba?!!” Then suddenly someone grab his hands away from me and someone was infront of me. Hayes???
Nang tumingin ako .. it’s not Hayes. He’s taller and he’s a bit tan. “Pre. Kasama ko siya. Kapatid ko to.”
What?!!
“Tsk!” tapos umalis yung lalaki. Yumuko ako ulit.
“Okay ka lang ba??” Tatalikod sana ko at aalis pero-
“Hmm. Eto panyo. Pawis na pawis ka na eh.” Tinanggal niya yung sombrero ko. At pinunasan ang mga pawis ko sa noo. He’s gentle.. handsome.. “Aalis na ko ha. Just be careful.” He’s a student. I know, he has an ID, books in his other hand and bag in his shoulder. Bago siya makaalis. Hinawakan ko yung t-shirt niya. Napatingin siya sa akin.
“Nawawala ako.” Nakayuko ako… dahil nahihiya ako…
“Huh??”

This school is so big!! There are so many students around. Ang saya naman.
Even if he’s trouble for that, I grabbed him. Dinala niya ko sa school niya sa UBC. The scholars and genius school in Philippines. He’s a pre-med student. He even let me sit-in in his subject.
Treat me to street food after class and orient me about Manila.
I smiled at him. “I’m Christina.. Chritina Ja-“ Teka… I can’t tell him.. I don’t want to. This is the first time that I made friend without my surname Jacobs. “Javier. Christina Javier.”
“You’re a g-girl??”
“Y-yes.” Sabi ko na nagtatanong na… what?? I’m a girl. And hello?? I like you already.
“Sorry.” Tapos bigla siyang tumawa.
“I’m Louie, Louie Santos. I’m really sorry. At dahil diyan ililibre kita ng fishball as long as you want to.” I smiled at him. “After we’re friends right.”
I nod at him. “Hmm.”
“How old are you??”
“16.”Sagot niya. “Ikaw??”
