"It seems all of you are here." Students dulls the reception hall as they all look up at the stage with fear. Not wanting to do a task that was hard and difficult like their egg buffet challenge, they all pray for the best. "Before j get into why you're here I'd like to say a few things." Dojima holds a mic up to his mouth with his other hand on his hip. Standing talk and almighty, he scans the crowd and grins. "At this point in time, 352 students have dropped out, and only 628 students remain. This may seem cruel, but this training camp is a microcosm of what it means to choose cooking as your career. You'll need to stay calm when facing the unknown, and community with your ingredients. If you become a chef, there will be pressure. You'll have to endure countless nights filled with anxiety and indecision, adapt with eide range of situations, and overcome those challenges." His dark eyes are firm as they look over the students. "This life is akin to wondering alone through a wind torn barren wasteland. The more you climb, the more you stumble, and the more your goal become unclear. Before you know it, you may reach alone standstill after reaching the pinnacle and loose sight of how to return. But I want you to remember one thing..." His voice came up thing an octave. "Here at Totsuki, you are with others who would tread the same wasteland. This fact will sustain you once you salt forth and go on alone. I wish all of you the best of luck from the bottom of my heart! Now then," Hos voice returns to its usual tone. "Let is begin the final program of this camp." Students all looks at him with shock and fear. Not wanting thing hear what he was going to say, some even covers their ears.
"Welcome!" A door opens and reveals the head steward and maid. With two lines of servants with their hands on their laps, they bow. Catching all students by surprise, their eyes widens when they saw the staff lining in front of them.
"The final program consists of a modest banquet to celebrate the conclusion of the training camp." Beyond the door and staff, tables are spread all over the place. With candles lit, silverware shining, alumni begins to file out of the kitchen while holding their plate of food. "We will have all of you enjoy a full-course meal prepend by the alumni. Let me now say to all 628 of you who survived: congratulations for passing the truing camp!" Smiling priudly all the batch of tudents before him with their mouths open, he brings his hand propped on his hip forward. "Enjoy to your hearts content!"
"Yeah!"
All the students yell. Jumping to the person closest to them, the begin to walk into the hall adorned to theirs.
"Please sit down honoured guests." Stewards pulls out seats for the female. Looking at everything with amazement, food finally begin to be place in front of the students.
"Mmmhmmm!" Toshiba cries out with pleasure when she puts the pork in her mouth. Feeling her body tremble with pleasure, she squeezes her eyes shut. "So good..."
"Don't cry, Toshiba." Dispite enjoying his appraiser, Ibusaki's face was neutral.
"Hahaha," Sakaki and Yukihira laughs. Seeing their close friends enjoying themselves, Yukihira begins to recall the reason why he attended Totsuki.
"She'll be staying here in the diner from now on, Soma. Take care of your sister for me while I'm busy okay?" Holding a young girl on her shoulders, she stares at the younger red head with her black eyes.
"My name is Rei, a pleasure to meet you." Rei dips her head down as she introduces herself. The introduction came out monotone, like as dead man in Yukihira's dictionary.
•••
"How many looses is it, Soma?" Wiping her hands with a washcloth, Rei doesn't glance her brother a glance. Paying attention to get her hands clean after a cooking battle with her sibling, she came out victorious in the end, like how she always does.
