Chapter 22

"You're very selfish, you do know that, Eishi?" Looking at the passing buildings, Rei can feel Tsukasa's arms around her hips tightens for a brief second. Sitting with his legs open, Rei is in the middle of the parting.

"I--is that a good thing?" Feeling his breath tickling her ear, Rei sees her blushed face deepen in colour from her reflection on the mirror. Hearing Tsukasa's racing heart, her blush made its way to the tips of her ears.

"I guess you can say that." Pushing up her glasses, she tears her eyes away from the passing scenery. Leaving Totsuki Resort earlier than everyone else, Rei can only hope that her friends won't get mad when they realise that she is gone. "But why do we have to leave so early?" Although she didn't feel sleepy from waking up earlier than usual, she just didn't want to get into any trouble in general.

"Because I have a surprise for you." Pressing his chin on her shoulder, white eyes peers to black. Twinkling mischievously when they see the female flush and shift in he spot, Tsukass pulls her tighter in his embrace. Raising his right hand, he grasps Rei's chin gently and made her look at him. Leaning down, he kisses her softly yet teasingly.

"E--eishi," Fumbling her words, Rei looks at Tsukasa with a deep blush on her face. Feeling his heart throb loudly when he kissed her, it only ignited her heart even more. Losing her eyes, she leans up to him until...

*RING! RING! RI--!*

Pushing Tsukasa away with her left hand, her other went in and dug her phone out of her pockets. Answering without checking the caller like usual, she holds her smartphone close to her mouth without putting it in speaker.

"Hello!" Raising her voice from the embarrassment, Rei pushes up her glasses.

"Ah~ Rei how have you and Soma been?"

Hearing the familiar voice after couple of years, Rei couldn't believe her ears. "Dad!" Standing up despite being in a car, Rei raises her voice in surprise. Ignoring Tsukasa's baffled and paled face, she can hear Joichiro laugh in the background. "He--AH!" Flopping down to the seat next to her when the car came to a sudden halt, Rei grimace in pain. Quickly fixing her position, Rei pretends like nothing happened.

"Rei?! What happened?!"

"Nothing," Pushing up her glasses, she looks away from Tsukasa's eyes. "So it has been a while, father." Now sitting like a proper lady, Rei folds her other arm under her chest.

"It has, Rei. Anyways, I'm getting straight to the point. I'm--"

"What, that was quick--my goodness. Well, if you were coming back, you should've at least called."

"Is that Fumio-san I hear in the background?" Not believing that Joichiro might be at polar star dormitory located in Totsuki Teahouse Culinary Academy, she asks.

"You haven't changed one but! Where are your manners?"

"Well, sorry Rei. I'll be waiting for you and Soma to come back to polar star. Bye," Ending the phone call just like that, Rei stares at her phone.

"S--so th--that w--wa--was your d--d--da--dad?" Playing with his fingers as he trembles, Tsukasa couldn't bring it in himself to look at Rei.

"I guess you can say that." Sighing, she tucks her phone back into her pocket. "He's such at pain to deal was it sometimes." Sighing yet again, Rei slumps her back down on the seat. "There's nothing to be worried about." Smiling, she props a hand on her head as she continues to lay down on the leather seat. "It's not like he's going to eat you."

"B--but--!"

"You're so nervous, Eishi. It's not like he's here right now." Looking at Tsukasa for a whole longer, Rei smiles.

"B--b--b--b--but!"

"My, your so nervous." Sitting up, she moves from her spit and kneels between the parting of Tsukasa's legs. Wrapping her left hand behind his neck, she takes her glasses off with the other. Leaning in for a kiss, she is glad that there is a tinted window between the driver's seat and the passengers. Connecting her lips with Tsukasa's, he wraps his arms and round her waist and pulls her closer to him. Pulling back, they went in for another and another till their hearts content.

"Milady," Bowing with a hand under his chest, the old steward goes back into the private vehicle and drives away. With her luggage besides her, Rei smiles as she look up at her dorm. With the loud distant cries of crows and the vines still covering some of the large building, Rei grips the handle of her luggage and begin to walk forward.

"You do know that you don't have to follow me, right?" Glancing back at the trembling Tsukasa slowly following far behind her, Rei chuckles when she recalls the stubbornness of the silver head when she insisted to go inside alone. "You might regret coming along with me." Knowing that Joichiro is just beyond those doors, she continues to walk in her normal pace. "Your so selfish, Eishi. I already spent almost a week of nights with you and yet you still want me to be with you." Grinning, Reu pushes the front doors open. "Fumio-san! Dad! I'm back!" Raising her voice a tone higher, Rei walks inside.

"So the kids finally coming back." Fumio walks into the front entrance with and cup of hot tea in her hand. Walking close behind her, a muscular man with dark red hair revealed himself.

"It has been a while Rei." Looking at the ravenette holding a luggage close to her side, Joichiro walks up and picks the luggage up. "What room are you in? I'll carry this for you."

"Thanks dad." Smiling softly at the man, Fumio finally realised something.

"You're family?!" Looking at the two people in her front entrance conversing with each other, she yells out and caught their attention.

"Sort of." Looking over at Fumio for a quick second, her onyx eyes trail back to Jochiro's. "Room 310."

"What do you mean by sort of? Aren't you blood related?" Sipping her tea, Fumio looks at the girl sceptically.

"It's more complicated than that, Fumio-san. Anyways Rei, who is that guy hiding behind that door?" Patting his daughter's shoulder with his spare hand, he looks at the silver he's behind the door.

"Oh, him." Turing back, she makes eye contact with Tsukasa. "Don't get mad at me but he's my lover." Straightforwardly, Rei introduces Tsukasa to Joichiro and Fumio. Trembling even more when she introduces him like that, Tsukasa completely hides behind the large door.

"Ah, is that so?" Walking up to Tsukasa, Joichiro extends a had out to him.

"Rei's dad, but you can just call me Joichiro-san." Emitting a dangerous aura around him, his face has a smile on his face.

"Dad, you're scaring him." Walking up to the two men, Rei stands between them. "Eishi there's no need to be afraid. It's not like he's going to cook you or something." Encouraging the silver head, Tsukasa raises a shaky hand to him.

"Tsu--Tsukasa E--Eishi, " Clasping the two hands together, Tsukasa is barely able to look at Joichiro's eyes.

"Wait, I know that name!" Walking to the door, Fumio gets a good look at Tsukasa. "You're ghe first seat to the elite ten! Tsukasa Eishi! Also known as The White Knight of the Table!" Pointing a shaky arm at Tsukasa, Fumio's eyes snaps back to Rei. "How did you meet a big shot like this?!" Looking down at her feet with a slight blush as she recalls their first encounter, Rei hides her tainted cheeks as she pushes up her glasses.

"Oh, so that's how it is." Shaking Tsukasa's hand, he let's go of it. "Anyways Tsukasa, let's walk to Rei's room." Pulling the luggage behind him as he begins to walk tow the stairs, he stops mid way. "Rei the keys." Holding a spare hand out, Rei throws the keys to him. "Come on Tsukasa, let's go."

"O--okay," Walking with shaky legs, Rei does nothing to stop Joichiro. Ignoring Tsukasa's pleeful eyes, she turns around to face Fumio as she feels her heart squeeze.

"So Fumio-san, where we're we?"
