The Mother Elf was freed from her chamber, but she did not consider it true freedom.
Three of the four Guardians were still protecting Neo Arcadia with their lives. Hidden Phantom, her tulpa, gave up his physical form in an attempt to hold back a red legend. It didn't work -and he had known it wouldn't- and Neo Arcadia had been shaken.
At the fall of Tekiya, Sage Harpuia took up the silent role of leading the citizens. He was always exhausted, and refused her help when she came to visit him.
"Save your energy Mother." he warned her, not sounding unlike the original X in doing so, "There will be a time when you'll need it more than I do."
But now was the perfect time to die. Now was the perfect time to waste her ethereal energy on others. He didn't listen to her when Omega appeared. He didn't accept her powers to help aid them against the demon. She found other ways to exhaust her energy, ways that made Harpuia realize that she was far more stubborn when provoked. This happened to make him exceedingly angry as well.
So now she was here, standing in her second form between her beloved lycan and siren. Two more of the four Guardians, down to die in a cold laboratory with little hope of some recovery. Harpuia was now the last of the Four Guardians of Neo Arcadia, and knew it all too well. He still refused her help. It wasn't fair- it wasn't right. There had to be some way, some way to bring her children back online...
"Mother..." a voice from behind her questioned, seeming to surprise the Mother Elf's second form, "What do you think you are doing?"
The Mother Elf turned around and gave the intruder a helpless look. 'Help me X,' the look declared silently between them, 'Help me save my lycan and siren.'
But all Cyber Elf X did was sigh. "If he knew you as well as I, you'd be caught here. You understand that, don't you?"
The Mother Elf shook her head before quickly moving closer to X, then taking him by the shoulders. They should have been surprised that she was able to tangibly touch him after so long, but the realization went undiscovered in favor of the Mother Elf's distraught expression. She looked at him, searching his eyes as hers shed invisible tears. She didn't care if Weil or his cronies found her, she just wanted her children safe, and alive, and happy. Unfortunately, that era was ending far too quickly and all of Cyberspace was already mourning the bygone times. Even with their bodies taking place outside of the Cyberspace plane, they could both feel the changes far deep into their cores.
"You need to get out of here." X told her again. "Zero has the power to stop Omega, but if Weil gets his hands on you now Mother... there won't be a hope anymore. You understand this, don't you? Mother, you need to hide. Hide at Resistance's base where the Baby Elves were. Hide in Cyberspace and join Hidden Phantom. Hide anywhere but in Neo Arcadia. Please... Please Mother? It will be the only thing I ever ask of you. Just... just hide."
Stubborn until the end, the Mother Elf held X's shoulders tighter. 'Let this be the only thing I ask of you too X- help me save them. It's not fair, I don't want this for them, please X! Please help me save them!'
X gave a heavy sigh as he pushed away from her. "Mother," he whispered, refusing to give eye contact, "I'm sorry..." and with that, X's second form dissipated back into a small orb and he flew away. The Mother Elf, now alone with nothing but the bodies of her siren and lycan, held herself as she started to cry.
