chapter two
"in or out"
" so, miss berry, the only thing to ask is this, are you in or out, "~
Rachel and Madeline stood side by side, facing the front of the school. Rachel looked over at Madeline, "Maddie, I'm scared. And I'm never scared, this is a new feeling." Rachel gulped.
Madeline looked over and matched her gaze, she squeezed her arm, "You'll be great, I promise." She smiled that perfect smile that she possessed.
Rachel looked back up at the school, Madeline's gaze followed, "Ready?" She asked.
"As I'll ever be," Rachel replied and the girls began the walk into the building.
Instantly, they were greeted by a girl the same height as Rachel. She ran over to Madeline and smiled, "You've brought her!" The girl smiled. Madeline nodded, "I'm Ariana, Ariana Judd. I'm a friend of Madeline's and a huge fan of you." The girl smiled brightly and held out a hand for Rachel.
Madeline leaned down and whispered to Rachel: "Don't worry, she's not always this peppy."
Rachel stifled a laugh and accepted the girl's hand, "I guess you know me already, but I'm Rachel Berry." Rachel smiled in return.
Another girl came around the corner. She was one of the prettiest girls Rachel had ever seen, of course one of the others being Quinn Fabray. She was tall, had dark, wavy hair and big brown eyes and very defined cheek bones. Her hair was pushed back with a purple head band.
In reality, all the girls in the school were drop dead gorgeous. Rachel had no idea how she would ever fit in here, if she decided to go.
"Hey, you brought her. Ms. Soprano is going to be so pleased." She smiled lightly, she turned to face Rachel and also held out a hand, "I'm Vivian Lane, but everyone calls me Viv. So please, call me Viv." She smiled, this girl too had a beautiful smile.
Rachel shook her hand in return, "I'm Rachel Berry. But everyone here seems to know that."
The other girl, Ariana, nodded, "Yes, we've been waiting for you." She smiled.
Madeline looked towards Rachel and laughed at Rachel's horrified expression. "Not in a stalker-ish way. What we mean is that Ms. Soprano saw you perform 'Don't Rain on My Parade' at your Sectionals last year, and ever since she's come to your competitions." Madeline specified, and it caused Rachel to calm down. "Actually, you're part of the reason she agreed to be the coach here, she thought that maybe if timing was right, you'd eventually decide to join her club."
