chapter five
"hoedown throwdown"" pull out your cowboy boots girls, because we're doing a country song, "
~
Once again, Rachel and Madeline found themselves staring down the big castle-like building that was Crawford Country Day.
Rachel looked at Madeline, "I don't know if I can do this." She said nervously.
Madeline stepped in front of Rachel, her back to the school so that she was face to face with Rachel, obscuring her view of the monumental building behind them. Madeline gently placed her hands on each of Rachel's shoulders. "You are going to be amazing because you are amazing. People here are going to love you for you, not just your talent." Madeline then pulled the girl into a hug, and let it last for many moments before pulling apart.
Rachel's heart beat faster and faster the more seconds the hug lasted.
Is this what being accepted feels like? She thought to herself.
Madeline broke the hug and slid her hands back onto Rachel's shoulders. "Let's go get 'em tiger!" She smiled and grabbed Rachel's hand, pulling the short brunette along as she ran into the school.
"What's my first class again?" Rachel asked, she had never felt so nervous in her life.
Madeline smiled. "AP Macroeconomics, with Mr. Lanski. Don't worry. Four of your six classes are with me." Madeline smiled as she searched diligently for Rachel's locker.
Rachel nodded, still trying to understand the schedule. She turned it all different ways trying to figure it out as if it was some cryptic code. "Yes, and where is that class?" She asked.
"Downstairs. Like I said. We have first and second together, fourth period and lunch, and then vocal for sixth period which then means we have show choir rehearsal for three hours." Madeline explained.
Rachel's has went agape. "Three hours?!"
"We want to be good, no, have to be good. You want to beat the New Directions, right?"
Rachel thought for a moment, still getting used to having allegiance to a different team. "All things included, yes."
"Then you shall rehearse for three hours!" Madeline said, making an attempt to sound like a Renaissance Queen. Both girls chuckled and made their way to first period.
By the time lunch rolled around, Rachel had gotten a better grip on life at Crawford Country Day. Everything was so different, yet oddly the same. Her teachers were all nice so far, and it was a pleasant surprise to see that she wasn't all alone in third period. Ariana had third period as well. Rachel had also made a lot of friends. Rachel had always assumed that all-girls schools were filled with hateful Quinn Fabray's, where everyone's main goal was to stab each other in the back.
