"Hey, its Kurt. Sorry I couldn't make it to the phone at the moment! Leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. BEEP."
"Hey Kurt, its Rachel. I have something big to tell you," Rachel looked up above the doors of McKinley and stared at the letters spelling out he school's name, "It's my last day at McKinley. Call me when you get this, maybe you and Blaine can meet a friend of mine and me after school for coffee. Ok... bye." Rachel hung up and breathed out.
She was about to start her last day at McKinley, probably ever. She pulled the door open as she usually did. She held her transfer papers in her left hand.
Her dad's had gladly signed the papers when she explained to them the opportunities available at CCD, and the Finn situation. And even though she wasn't really slushied anymore, she decided to add that in to make it seem more like hell vs heaven.
She passed Quinn's locker, she was getting out her books as Finn was leaned against the locker beside her, talking to her. He didn't seem to notice Rachel pass by.
Rachel sat across from Principal Figgin's desk. He rubbed his face in complexity at the situation, "I just don't understand why you'd want to leave McKinley. It's a great school!"
Rachel looked down and shook her head. "You don't understand, Sir. I have to do this, I need to." She said.
The Principal pressed his finger tips together and looked at the girl, "What about the glee club?" He asked, and raised both his eyebrows.
She smiled sympathetically thinking about their close-to-none chance of winning. They no longer had their two best singers Kurt and herself, and they were facing their now superior teams. They had already almost lost to The Warblers once, and now with Rachel gone, they had no hope. "They'll find a way to win without me. Plus, Fiona Soprano is the highest acclaimed music teacher and the most demanded glee club coach, Crawford Country Day hired her from Paris. She had retired a while back, but she came back under certain stipulations somehow only Crawford Country Day could provide. I need her experience. I need to go there." Rachel explained.
Figgins nodded, "Very well." He called his secretary in and handed her the papers. Rachel smiled brightly. After the secretary had exited, he looked back down at Rachel, "So, are you going to tell the glee club or would you like me to inform Mr. Schuester." Figgins asked.
"If you don't mind, I would like to do it myself." Rachel smiled sadly, though she didn't really feel sad.
"I don't mind at all." He stood up and Rachel followed, he held out his hand for her to shake, "Enjoy your last day at McKinley Miss Berry, it has been a pleasure to teach you and watch you perform."
