\Aaron POV/

I cursed myself as I stumbled slightly in the morning, squinting through the darkness and trying to use the very faint morning light to my advantage. The box in my arms was heavy with tools and supplies to use as my excuse for being out late, and I let out a breath as I spotted the familiar abode I shared with Hercules.

I knocked lightly on the door and shifted the large box in my hands, rolling my shoulders back, and waited for the door to be opened.

Well, I was surprised to see Alexander Hamilton, who is basically the King, to open the door for me.

He stepped to the side and offered a small smile at my wide eyes and gestured me in, leaving the door and going into the back room. I almost tripped on my way in and closed the door with my foot, setting the box on a counter.

"Hercules?" I called out, and the man came out, smiling in embarrassment. "Sorry man, didn't think you'd be back till later." He looked out the window. "Morning?" He looked back at me. "Where have you been all night, Burr?"

I stuttered on my words and pointing to the box. "Went to get some supplies..." I mumbled, hoping he'd catch the partial lie.

"Ah, okay. Wanna hang out for a bit?" Hercules Mulligan smiled again, waving a hand and going into the back room. I followed sheepishly behind and was surprised to see another face.

"Ah, mon amie, you are Aaron Burr, correct?" A Tall Man called out loudly, sitting up on the bed.

I merely mumbled a 'yes' and looking around at the familiar living space, going over to my own bed and sitting down, sighing.

Alexander came back from wherever he was at and sat next to what I think was Lafayette, quill in his hand and paper in the other. "I have unfinished work to be doing, I should leave." The Small Man mumbled, getting to leave. Hercules pulled him back down, whining like a child. "Noooooo," He mumbled, looking down at Alexander. "We barely get to see you, stay longer Lexi,". Alexander huffed, crossing his arms at Hercules behavior.

"Fine, ten minutes." Alexander muttered, looking out the window and squinting. Hercules did a silent fist bump into the air as I snorted, shuffling the papers around on my desk into a neat pile.

Alexander then looked over to me, but that wasn't the surprising part. Him actually speaking to me was what it me off. "Excuse me, are you Aaron Burr, sir?" Alexander tilted his head.

I almost stuttered on my words, but I bet that would've been better than speaking this. "That depends, who's asking," I mentally face-palmed myself. Idiot! The King is asking! Why'd you have to go and be snarky-

But, Alexander smiled. "Oh sure, sir. I've heard of your work, very impressive. Ahead of your people, too."

Did the King just compliment me?

"Ah, thank you..." I mumbled. I didn't know what the fuck to say! He's the King who can kick me out!

Alexander merely chuckled and looked out the window, squinting. "Hey, is that-"

"Yo Alex! You in there?" A certain curly haired man popped up in the window, hands on the glass and looking through. I saw him flash a smile before disappearing, only to reappear actually in the house, having stormed through the door and into the backspace.
