There is a quiet boy I know
But when he speaks
The world certainly listens
A Silent, unspoken authority

The calm before the storm
So elegant with warning
Terrified and Beautiful
Almost too fragile to look at
But strong enough embody my every thought.

Light fingers silently drumming
I'm aware of every single movement
Everything else,
A photograph out of focus
His eyes, swirling with unspoken emotion
His presence, ivory silk on a blanket of green

He is the sunset
Breathtaking finalities
Like the strange feeling you get
As if you forgot of something
Before they turn out the lights

Darkness consumes
Searching through this eternal night for anything in reach
An anchor
Any sign of truth

I'm still trying to hold on
And he doesn't pull me close.
But he can't seem to let go.

I am tethered to your smile
Your fleeting glances
Your incandescent laugh

I thought this would hold me back
But I'm soaring above the world

I see beauty in the smallest things
I notice the way the wind plays with the trees
Softly dancing to a rhythm of change
The light seeping through my open windows in the late afternoon

He is the moment
The memory of my past
A glimpse of my future
An infinite possibility
Of an impossible love
