Edith's POV:

I sat up quickly in my bed, the sweat on my body becoming cold as the cool air hit me, and I shivered a little bit. For multiple reasons. I looked over to my laptop and remembered what I had been doing. Damn it! That project was due tomorrow!

I almost screamed as my six am alarm went off, leaving me with two hours to finish this thing up. I felt like crap as I stood up and walked over to the laptop, yawning. I glanced at my shower, knowing it always woke me up but decided against it to let mom sleep. Her nightmares had really been getting to her the last few months, and this night had only gotten worse after Nightmare and Error.

I pulled at my hair a little bit as I tried to get those villains out of my head. I clicked onto the project and starting typing, only having one slide left to do, plus the editing, and the editing of the presentation itself. I listened to a motivational playlist and found myself rubbing my head a lot, occasionally picking at the small crack near my eye socket.

Mom had told me that was something from dad, but she countered that by saying my eye was a beautiful blue with hints of yellow. I always smiled knowing that I had better features than my exposed skull but stopped believing that as I walked the street.

Especially after what dad had told me.

"God," I stood up, rubbing my eye and eye socket violently, "I can't focus for the life of me."

I headed towards my washroom, turning on the tap for a few seconds, splashing some water into my face. After I had dried my face off I looked into the mirror, making eye contact with myself.

"You are not weak, Edith. You can protect them. You can help. And they need to accept that. Just focus, focus on school. You're going to prove yourself."

I exhaled and headed back to my desk, glaring at the laptop for a second before I cracked my knuckles, then getting to work. I would prove myself, whether they would like it or not. I was not weak and I would fight beside them.

I shut down my laptop, the time now eight. I had finished everything, luckily for me, and I hopped into the shower quickly. After that, I pulled on some striped shorts, a galaxy crop top, black ankle socks, some light makeup consisting of mascara, light eye shadow, and some unnoticeable pink lipstick.

Quickly packing my bag, throwing it over one shoulder, I ran downstairs, grabbing the lunch I had pre packed last night. I slipped on my blue, black and white skate shoes, which lined up nicely with the socks.

I put my light brown hair in a messy bun as I closed the door behind me, locking it up. I texted mom as I walked to the bus stop, just making sure she was up. I got a reply almost immediately, her just saying:

I'm just a little late up. Have a good day at school. Don't be scared to call if something bad happens.

I smiled a little bit at her concern.

It'll be fine, mom. And either way, there are a lot of powerful people at the school and near the school. Toriel would protect me, anyway, hahahaha.

I clicked my phone off once I saw her laughing emoji and heart emoji, seeing the bus pull up a few seconds before I had made it. I grinned as I scanned my bus pass, sitting in the closest seat to the front. The team and I were going to nail this presentation, I could feel it in my bones.
