I made my way into a brightly lit room following the nurse, followed by Kyle carrying a sleepy Isabella.

He sat her on the bed where the nurse began to ask me some questions writing down my answers.

"What’s wrong with her?"

"She was at the nursery today, and when I checked in on her they told me that she had a fever and I should take her to a doctor."

She nodded her head and wrote something down on the paper in her hands.

"The doctor will be with you momentarily, wait patiently, she should be just fine."

I nodded and she left the room, closing the door behind him leaving Kyle and I alone with Bells.

I looked at my daughter who was in the hands of my best friend who was soothing her.

Bells looked up at me with big eyes and I couldn't help but be amazed at her beauty.

She had flowing blonde hair to perfectly match my own although her eyes were definitely not mine.

She had piercing blue eyes that looked like they belonged on a fairy tale princess instead of on a human being but they made her all that much more beautiful.

She had a small frame and a round face that could win any beauty pageant but I would never dream of putting my daughter in any of those things, I mean have you seen Toddlers and Tiaras?

I looked away from her for a second to come eye to eye with Kyle.

He was starring straight into my eyes.

"What are you thinking Kylie?" I heard him ask.

I walked over to Bells and sat beside her and brought her into my arms. She didn't restrain herself and instantly let me bring her into my lap and stroke her hair. I felt her relax and I gave a small smile.

"She is so beautiful and I can't believe she's all mine."

I looked up into Kyle's eyes and saw a smile playing at his lips.

"She is beautiful Kylie. I still remember sophomore year you know? Everyday going to school and you weren't there."

"And you visited me every day after school to make sure I was okay."

I saw him smile and then I heard the click of a door opening and in came a thirty-something year old man come in looking at the two of us.

"Hello, I am Doctor Smith. Now let's have a look at little Isabella shall we?"

I nodded my head and got off the examination table and stood close by with Kyle by my side.

The doctor began to check on Isabella who looked a little uneasy but I said soothingly, "Don't worry sweetie, he's just going to see if your okay."

I saw her give a small nod and I felt a little better knowing that she wouldn't give the doctor a hard time.

I saw the doctor check her heartbeat and take her temperature until he finally turned to me.

"She's perfectly fine, but I need a parent to release exactly what’s going on."

I raised an eyebrow at the doctor.

"I am her mother."

He looked to be in a bit of shock for a second but continued on.

"She just has a 24 hour flu, she should be fine within the next few hours but I don't recommend you to leave her out of your sight until probably tomorrow night, and I wouldn't encourage too much company. She needs rest."

I nodded my head and asked him, "Do I need to sign anything? Can I go now?"

He nodded his head and told me that at the front there would be someone with the release papers.

I grabbed Bells and held her in m arms as I walked out followed by Kyle.

I went to the front desk where Kyle took Bells and she didn't put up a fight as I signed a few papers and then took her back into my arms as we walked out to Kyle's waiting car.

I got into the backseat with Bells and Kyle got into the driver’s seat and began to drive us to my house.

"She's fine Kylie, you don't need to worry too much," I heard Kyle's voice penetrate my thinking.

I nodded my head as we pulled up at my house.

I got out of the car when Kyle turned the car off and took Bells with me and went to the front door which Kyle had already unlocked with his spare key.

I walked in and put Isabella on the couch and spoke to her in the softest voice I could muster up.

"Bells, go to sleep here so mommy can keep an eye on you okay? I'll just be in the kitchen and make you something to eat for when you wake up okay?"

She gave me a small nod and then said sweetly, "Okay mommy."

I smiled at her angelic voice, as I stood up and planted a kiss on her forehead.

I left her on the couch and walked over to the adjacent kitchen and looked at Kyle who was smiling at me.

He walked over to me and folded his arms around me and rested his chin on my head as I rested my head against his chest.

"You don't have to be so strong Kylie. Let it out."

I felt tears spring to my eyes and I didn't bother trying to wipe them. I let them all spill over and I could tell that Kyle was felling them soak into his shirt.

I felt arms tighten around me and then I felt my feel lift off the ground and next thing I knew I was on Kyle's lap crying my eyes out.

"Tell me everything," I heard him whisper in my ear.

I regained my composure as much as I could and then began to tell Kyle everything that was wrong.

"I got pregnant by some random guy at 15. I had a baby at sixteen. My parents kicked me out, and I had to move in by myself. I had to give up my favorite sport for my daughter. My parents want nothing to do with me. Bells is 2 already she'll be 3 soon. I have no friends besides you, Austin and Jake and I have hardly any time with my daughter because of school."

I felt a hand on the back of my head and next thing I knew my face was in the crook of Kyle's neck and I was letting a few more tears spill over.

"Do you want me to go make Bells something to eat for when she wakes up?"

I nodded my head slightly and I felt myself gently being lifted and settled down on the couch.

I looked up to see Kyle in the kitchen going around getting food items and making something to eat. I can never get over how well he is with Bells, and how well he treats her no matter what. It makes me sometimes wonder who would bear his children. He would make an amazing father.

I heard a slight knock at the door so I stood up and walked over and unlocked the door to come face to face with Austin and Jake.

I wiped my tear and opened the door for them and they both came inside and just as they were about to talk and put a finger against my lips and then pointed at Bells on the couch.

They instantly understood and then Jake asked me quietly, "What happened?"

"At lunch I checked in on her and she had a fever so I left and took her to the hospital, no worries she just has a 24 hour flu and should be okay later but I'm not going to school tomorrow and staying here with her."

Kyle came from the kitchen and handed me a grilled cheese sandwich and I couldn't help but smile.

"Eat it; I made another one for Bells. By the way, I'm staying with you tomorrow." he didn't give me time to protest as he turned to Jake and Austin and asked them, "Will you pick up our assignments for us?"

Both boys nodded and I couldn't help but be grateful for them.

"Thank you."
