When Delta passed out she began to fall off the Pegasus. Thanks to Alex's fast reflexes he was once again able to grab Delta's wrist keeping her from falling to her death. Everyone landed their pegasi and Alex laid Delta on the ground. "What do we do?" Alex asked no one in particular. Everyone immediately looked at Annabeth.
"Seriously?" Annabeth asked incredulously. They all just nodded. "Okay. Alex get the nectar and ambrosia, Jason get a needle and thread, Piper get some wrap to cover it, Percy get some disinfectant, and Leo start a fire to warm her up." Everyone nodded and went off to do their assigned task.
Annabeth kneeled next to Delta and felt her pulse. It was slowing down. "Come on Delta," Annabeth whispered to her. "You can't die on me. We had a promise." Everyone quickly returned with what they were sent to get and Leo already had a fire set up next to Delta. Annabeth poured some disinfectant on Delta's shoulders and cleaned them with a cloth. She quickly started to stitch up the wounds and then wrapped them up. "Now we want until she wakes up to give her the nectar and ambrosia."
They all sat around the fire and stared into the burning wood in silence. Annabeth looked down at Delta who was laying down next to her with her head in her lap. She checked her pulse and it was still fairly slow. Annabeth looked back up at the others and decided she had to say something. "Delta still hears Jack," Annabeth blurted out.
Everyone's heads snapped towards her. "What?" Percy asked hoping he heard that wrong.
"Delta still hears Jack's voice in her head," Annabeth repeated this time more slowly.
"Are you sure? How do you know?" Alex asked rapidly.
"She told me before we left for the quest," Annabeth.
"Why wouldn't she tell me?" Percy asked kinda hurt, but also kinda mad.
"Percy-" Annabeth started but was completely cut off by him.
"No Annabeth," Percy stopped her. "She never tells me anything that's going on with her. I'm her brother, but she always tells you."
"That's not true," Annabeth denied his accusations.
"Yes it is, and you know it," Percy pressed. "She told you that she was going to die on the first quest, she told you that she was scared, she told you not to get into harms way, she told you she didn't want you to come on this quest because she didn't want you to die." Percy stood up. "What doesn't she tell you Annabeth?!"
Annabeth removed Delta's head from her lap and stood up herself. "Why does it matter Percy?!"
"Because I'm her brother!"
"So what?! You know she has trust issues! You should be happy she trust someone, instead of being mad that it's not you!"
Percy opened his mouth to counter when they heard a small voice speak instead, "Please don't fight." Everyone looked down at Delta who's eyes were now open as she looked up at Percy and Annabeth. "I don't want you guys to fights." Delta slowly started to push herself up making Annabeth kneel at her side.
"You should rest Delta," Annabeth told her as she tried to make her lay down again. "You lost a lot of blood."
"No," Delta shook her head as she forced herself onto her feet making Annabeth stand up as well. "I don't want you guys to fight. You're not supposed to fight because of me."
"We're not fighting," Percy tried to deny.
"Don't lie to me," Delta demanded.
"Okay fine," Percy relented. "We're fighting. But only because you're not telling me stuff!"
"I don't have to tell you everything Percy!" Delta countered as her eyes started to fill with tears. "Just stop fighting! Please." Delta took a step back. "You're not supposed to fight." Tears fell down Delta's face as she then ran off into the woods. She ignored the calls of her friends and just kept running.
So I apologize for taking forever to update. I am hella slow and y'all probably hate me for it. But anyway that was the chapter. Hope you enjoyed, though you probably didn't cuz it sucks, but yeah. PEACE!
