After handing Tobias the book, Brenda left her lab and headed upstairs to her room. "Why didn't I tell him?" she asked herself. "I could have saved him the pain. Now, he'll be too busy reading and sobbing to marry me!" Why did I want Tobias, Brenda thought, when I could have had anyone else? But like any other fangirl, Brenda knew the truth. Boys in books were just better.
And apparently, they were harder to get, even if you could rip them out of the pages.
A few hours later, screams echoed from the lab. Crying began as well. Somebody had clearly finished Allegiant.
