Baby Tris regained consciousness, and Brenda breathed a sigh of relief. "Don't you leave me ever again!" she said. The doctors were cheering and clapping. "She'll be ready to go soon," one of them said. "I always thought she was a fighter."

A month later, the new family of Brenda, Tobias, Veronica, Johanna, Beatrice, and Uriah was settled into their apartment. Brenda was curled up against Tobias, feeding Beatrice and Veronica. Brenda's phone rang. It was a fangirl. "Harry Potter faded!" she shouted. "Can you see what's wrong with the machine?" "I'll try," Brenda hesitated. She and Tobias packed the kids into Brenda's minivan and drove to the lab. While her father watched the kids, Brenda went down to investigate the machine. "I don't see what's wrong with it," Brenda said to a Tobias. "It said that it brings your true fictional love to life. It doesn't say anything about fading." "But the fictional characters you made for other people weren't ones you loved," Tobias said. "That's it!" Brenda gasped. "You and I are meant to be! You're not going to die!" Brenda kissed Tobias and wrapped her arms around him. "I love you," they said at the exact same time.
