"What do you mean? Being attack?" I was being drug through the house by Delta Stan. "Who is attacking us? I thought that Jess said you guys weren't attacked a lot?!! Where is my son!?" I didn't stop my questioning long enough for any answers. Stan just nearly drug me down the stairs. "Where is my son?!" I asked again, trying my best to force this man to stop.

"He's in the safe room with LillyAnn, Luna. Come on!" Stan began to drag me again.

"What about Jess? Where is he? Is he okay? Why didn't he come with us? Stan, answer me!" Jess had run off, demanding that the Delta here escort me to the safe room while he went to defend his pack along with the warriors.

Stan said nothing, he just pulled me along and down the stairs to a part of the basement that I have yet to see. We stopped at a huge metal door with a hand print scanner thing on the wall. Stan grabbed my hand and pressed it down on the little scanner thing.

I looked at the man curiously. "It only has the Alpha and his family and the Beta and his family's prints on here at the moment." Stan lifted my hand off of the scanner thing as the door opened.

I was gently shoved inside of the room before I ran to my son as I heard him crying. My poor baby was scared.

"Momma's got you!" I took Cole from LillyAnn and held him close to my chest, rocking him gently while pressing kisses to his head full of hair.

"Do you know what is happening, Delta Stan?" LillyAnn asked Stan, who stood by the big metal door as if he were guarding the Queen of England in the Buckingham Palace.

"We are being attacked. The border patrols caught the scent of humans before they were fired upon." Stan didn't seem to feel the need to sugar coat what was happening. "There is also talk of bombs and stuff being brought. There are military helicopters quickly coming our way."

"Where is everyone else? The rest of the pack? Jess's parents?" I asked, still rocking my son.

"There are other safe rooms in the pack, Luna. This is just the one in the pack house for the Alpha and Beta's family," Stan informed me.

I nodded and sat down on one of the beds, letting out a breath.

"Will Jess be okay?" I asked after what felt like a never ending silence.

I had to know how my mate was doing. He had to be okay. I don't know what I would do if Jess wasn't. I couldn't go through another pregnancy without the father there for me. I couldn't go through anything without Jess with me.

"Luna," LillyAnn spoke, "the Alpha is an amazing warrior and Alpha. He will keep our pack safe."

My question wasn't answered. By the look in LillyAnn's eyes, I could see that she didn't know how this would turn out for my mate but she was going to try to remain positive.

"Okay." I placed my cheek on Cole's head. At least my little boy wasn't screaming and crying anymore. He was okay. He was safe.

Hours.

Hours.

Hours.

I waited for hours.

No mate.

He didn't come back.

"Luna, please rest." I shook my head at the Delta's request. "For the baby, please, Luna."

I looked up at Stan. "I will rest when my mate is back and safe."

Stan sadly looked at me. He wasn't telling me something. I just knew that something was being kept from me.

I opened my mouth to question the man, but I wasn't able to get a single word out as the safe room shook loudly and violently, startling my sleeping eight month old awake.

"Oh no."

Oh no? Oh no! Oh no?!

Oh no, what?

Oh no, what, Stan?

"What just happened?" I asked, rocking my screaming son as a way to try and calm him down.

"A bomb was just dropped. It sounded like it was clo-" Another bomb went off, causing the safe room to shake again. "They are dropping them in the pack!" Stan exclaimed.

"Where is my mate? Talk to him! Do that mind linky thing!" I demanded.

"Mind linky thing?" Stan was trying to joke, make me smile, laugh, something.

It wasn't working.

"Yes! That mind linky thing! Now!" I would have asked nicely, but I had a screaming baby in my arms and I was terrified for my safety, my mate's safety, and for the safety of my pack.

Stan didn't say anything for a good minute. "I can't get through to the Alpha, Luna. I'm sorry. He's either cut us out or..." Stan didn't finish his sentence, he didn't need to. "I'm sorry."

I slid down the wall, sitting on the floor with wide eyes. He's dead. He can't be. Jess better not be, I'll kill him if he is.

"Please be okay," I prayed. "Please, please be okay."

I stayed quiet, sitting on the floor. I didn't move for what felt like hours. I was numb. LillyAnn took Cole out of my arms ages ago. I couldn't be bothered to do anything. Stan told me that he would let me know the moment he had gotten word from the Alpha, Beta, Gamma, or any warrior who was out fighting.

So far, he's heard nothing.

Jess is gone, a voice in my head kept telling me.

I tried hard not to believe that voice, but what could I believe? Jess was silent. The warriors were silent. The Beta and Gamma were silent. The only noise that was heard outside of this safe room were the bombs being dropped on the pack a while ago.

"Luna, may you please open the door? A few of the men and I are going to check things out." I looked up at one of the guards, he had a hand out to help me up.

Numbly, I placed my hand in his. He lifted me up and I walked to the door, placing my hand on the scanner. The door opened.

"I will link Delta Stan when we are back." The men left and the door sealed shut.

Stan said nothing to me, he looked horrible as well. "Everything will be okay." His promise didn't help me feel any better.

Stan gently rubbed my back as I stood, staring at the door.

I didn't believe him.
