Tyler's pov
She didn't respond. I think I said it a little to soon. Not that I should be saying it to her at all. Great. School is going to be awkward. Maybe I said it to fast. Fuck! Why do I have to be so weird?!
I powered off my phone. She read it but didn't respond. My body shifted, so I was now staring at the ceiling. I'm starting to regret texting her in the first place. Maybe I could have had my undying crush on her from afar.
I don't get it, I'm a great dude. What does Jamie even see in Dylan. He's a fucking asshole, he really is. I don't understand why he's playing the "nice guy" role all of a sudden. I wouldn't be surprised if he mastered up some evil plan to take advantage of Jamie.
I tried to rid my head of those thoughts, but I could only think of poor Jamie having her heart broken by Dylan. He only thinks about himself.

I was walking the corridors of school, trying to get to the cafeteria for lunch with Mike and Andy. We were basketball teammates and friends.
"The basketball game was sick last Friday," Andy said, with a huge lopsided grin plastered on his face. He pushed back his raven black, windswept locks of hair back.
Mike rapidly nodded, agreeing. "I agree, Dylan especially was really on his game."
I rolled my eyes at the mention of Dylan.
"What did you think?" Mike asked over at me.
I cocked my brow a bit. "The game was great. Dylan, however, looked like he needed help on the court."
Andy chuckled. "Okay, sure."
What was that supposed to mean?
We reached the cafeteria, on instinct, my eyes scanned the room for Jamie. She sat at her usual table near the windows with Megan and... Dylan?! What does he want?! N-Not that I cared. Ugh. Who am I kidding? I hate that Jamie has all her attention centred on that dick. In fact, I resisted the urge to go over there and show her who the real man was.
Besides from Dylan the dick, my eyes trained on Jamie who sat peacefully next to Megan. She wore her black distressed jeans, a white v neck t shirt that she wore two weeks ago and a silk indigo bomber jacket. Jamie was the type of girl you wanted to have, but she was always running and three feet ahead of you. She was kind, sweet and patient. Though under that first layer was her hard rock top shell. You could see she tried very hard sometimes to not flip off some classmates. Like I said, she was always out of reach. Even the most well known people at school couldn't catch her eye if they tried.
Except this year has been different. Dylan has managed to, not only catch her eye, but make her smile, laugh, blush, and all of the above. Wait. Does sex count on all of the above? Hopefully not. Anyways, Dylan only started actually liking Jamie because he overheard Eric Witsman, aka from one of my favorite town bands, got dumped by Jamie. Dylan only went after her because when he went to a meet up with the band, Eric had mentioned Jamie and said that he thinks she's a virgin. Dylan being the perverted dick, started saying dumb shit like "Ohh a virgin? Now that sounds delicious" in his stupid voice. Not to mention, he told Austin from the basketball team that he thinks Jamie is a challenge that he won't turn down.
I don't buy it for one second that he genuinely likes her. Unlike me, who loves every aspect of her. Yeah, I do dumb shit, or sometimes say the stupidest things in the world in front of her, but hey, I've gotten her attention. Although, I kinda think she despises me in a way. I do have an interesting reputation that I keep up with. I like Jamie though, it's been a long time actually, that I've had a crush on her.
I pull my phone out and text Jamie.
Me: dylan and u make a gr8 couple ;)
I could feel Jamie's eyes from across the room.
Jamie: are u still jealous cos u want dylan all to yourself?
Jamie: aw its ok ty
I inwardly smiled at the nickname.
Me: even if i did roll that way, dylan would NEVER be my type
Me: dylan is a lil bitch
Jamie: dude leave dylan alone
Me: all i said wuz that yall make a gr8 couple and then i put dis ' ;) '
Jamie: whatever
Jamie: what do u want
Me: wdym i just wanna talk to you, my friend ;)
Jamie: we r not friends and stop with your winky faces.
Me: ,')
Me: ,')))))))
"Who are you texting?" I look up from my phone to find Dylan sitting down at our lunch table.
"Where were you?" I asked back with a fake smirk.
He let a devilish grin cross his features before saying, " Oh me? With Jamie."
I tried not to roll my eyes. He's stupid. Everything about him is stupid. His face is stupid and he talks stupid and he doesn't deserve Jamie.
"I think I like her," Dylan said, a hesitating glint in his eye.
Okay. Now I hate him even more. I texted Jamie again.
Me: ur bf is annoying
Andy let out a low whistle from beside me. "What happened to only wanting to fuck her?"
"She's hot as fuck, it's unbelievably." He paused. "I think I might be into her."
Jamie: why now?
Me: he just is
Now I played along. "So what now? You're in a serious relationship with her now?"
He kind of glared at me before answering. "Not serious, but I think I'll let it play out a little longer."
Okay, I know I said that I really hated him, but now I really hate him. He acts like this is just a game. Fucking jerk. I can't stand sitting at this table with him. I bet he doesn't even actually care about her.
Jamie: ty, leave him alone
Me: he bothers me
Jamie: how so?
I wanted to rant and explain to her how much of a douche Dylan was. Would she believe me? I began typing it, and explaining in a long paragraph that Dylan doesn't care as much as she thinks he does, but I didn't send it and erased it all.
Me: he's just annoying
Jamie: leave him be
She usually was three steps ahead of everyone, but this was different. Did she actually believe Dylan was being truthful?
I should tell her, but I can't.
