Chapter 25: Resolve, enforced by Shock

It was the late night in the quiet town of Green Town. The night had fully set in, on this somewhat musky night. It was drizzling causing a, almost, smokescreen of mist that made it difficult to see in-front of you.  It gave the impression of a truly dead city, with the only guides being orange lamp-posts and the lights from windows which were made fuzzy by the mist caused by the rain.

Mostly everyone was settling down to sleep in the now late evening, however if anyone was watching the air a dazzle of bright white light lit up the whole of the mist. Then through the light a black winged silhouette flew out of the light before it vanished into nothingness. On closer inspection were two figures who rode upon the flying object, with drenched wet clothes but determined demeanors.

Arion and Gawain flew on top of Phoenix through the drizzling night sky. Gawain looked upon the world below...or what he could see through the mist "This is definitely a most different place than Fantasia"

"Well Gawain...welcome to Earth" said Arion "a rather boring place compared to Fantasia...and we had to come in the rain. Are you going to alright Phoenix...in this weather?" Phoenix gave a confident chirp "if you say so. It's actually a bit fortunate it's raining, no-one will see him"

"Why...would it alert the populace?"

"Jusssst a bit Gawain"

Arion turned round his head "you have to understand, on Earth there's no magic, monsters or mythical creatures. Everyone is just...plain. We might arm ourselves with weapons...but in the end we aren't that strong"

"Shich is reason for concern...if that Witch Noire has the Lord's power" said Gawain "does Phoenix know where to go?" Phoenix was tilting his head left and right, like a radar dish "it's just if it is locating by smell, it will be difficult" Phoenix's looked to the North-East and with a loud call sped on its way

"I don't think it's smell it's following Gawain. Just hold on" Gawain didn't have to be told twice.

After ten minutes or so of flying, the mist began to lift and the clouds began to clear allowing the light of the full moon to shine down on the earth. As Arion looked down, he see familiar roads and streets. Then in the distance "there...there's the base! Phoenix that way!" with a cry it tucked in its wings and began descending towards the familiar building of Noire's base.

As they approached the lit up building, it looked rather quiet from the outside with no immediate sign of life. Little did they know a couple of security were outside guarding the main door "I hate these night shifts"

"Tell me about it. I wish something except were to happen" the two then heard a loud bird call "what the heck was that?" the sound by following by small piercing sounds behind them "whoa! What...Feathers?"

"Where did they come...umm Jeff, feathers don't often make the sound of ticking time bombs do they?" they looked between each other with pale faces, and just as they ran all the feathers exploded all at once.

All the workers that were also inside, quickly all ran and gathered to the front door and wall which quickly crumpled to debris and dust. All wondered and stopped, frozen in place with curiosity and worry. All the security men that came out with guns and electronic batons only from nowhere a large force smashed into the ground. Everyone now saw Phoenix before them, who made an angry cry causing everyone's fears to heighten and shoot through the roof. 

The guards who had blown back by the feathers were mostly unharmed "Well...Jeff, don't ever complain...this job is boring...ever again" and he fainted
