After a brief rest in the care area, Kaiden and Isara continued through the shopping mall making their way up the still escalators before going through the hallway. Isara remained vigilant, her eyes shifting to the open or ruined business that included cafes and shops that either had structural damage or furniture knocked over. As Kaiden looked around he thought to ask "so...where is this Safe Area anyway? And why do we need to go there?"
"The safe Area should be at the other end of this building" Isara said pointing forward "It's where I can complete my mission and hopefully find my squad-mate Tulio..." he added under breath "providing he hasn't been caught of course"
"Your Mission?"
"In this whole...environment are three safe Zones each with a card key" Isara pulled out a blue and red card "Like these ones. Once I find the third, I can report in and finish"
Kaiden thought to ask another curious question "You know...I've been meaning to ask this...but what are you doing here Isara?"
"What do you mean? Isn't it the same reason as everyone else who's here?" she inquired
"Well you commented before on being out of your league...but you're still here. Why's that?"
"Oh that's what you meant. Truth be told I've been trying to gain experience...which I really need before I can travel any further. I've been stuck for a long while, and this mission seemed my ticket to go on further and explore"
"Huh? So you can't leave this place?"
"Are you sure you're alright? You seem a bit more lost than you should be" Kaiden's face fell, as his clouded thoughts still wouldn't form.
Kaiden felt frustrated that his mind had yet to clear, and a little a worried too Isara saw his expression and patted his shoulder "Don't worry Kaiden...it's okay. I said I'd stick by you, that is until your mind clears...and I meant it"
"Thank you" he said with a smile
"That's better. Well it's not we can't leave THIS area" she said pointing to the ground "but at our current experience level...we're limited in where we can go, that is referring to me and Tulio. Me and Tulio, we're just a two man squad, came here to clear a mission, which looked promising, only for the Golden Squadron to split us up"
"The Golden Squadron?"
"There a clan of sorts, known for their yellow armour. Majorically they aren't strong but there's loads of them, like thirty or more"
"So why are they only two of yo-" Kaiden ears twitched, his muscles tensing cutting his sentence "Isara...there's someone here"
"There is? Let me check"
Isara concentrated, seeming to sense the air around her...to which the faintest sound of breathing hit her ears "Yeah there is...there's two of them" she said quietly "In there" Isara pointed to ahead of them, at a closed bookstore, books displayed in the windows, a shutter only halfway down "They're probably ambushers...waiting for anyone to come through"
"Then...can I ask would anyone hide in there?" Kaiden pointed to the open shop, opposite the store "Because if people are, then while we deal with the two on right"
