Mello X Reader

"Mello is what?!" You yelled as your eyes widened at the shocking news coming through the phone. According to one of Mello's henchmen Mello had gotten himself severely burnt and injured. You sighed worriedly, rubbing your temples to relieve you of your building stress and worry. "That's stupid idiot!" You muttered to yourself.

Before receiving the horrid news you were at the supermarket buying necessities and groceries, an idea struck you. Almost running to the candy aisle you grabbed Mello's favourite chocolate from the shelf and chucked them into the shopping cart. Next you went to the toy section and searched through the variety of toys. "Here it is!" You exclaimed as you held up a stuffed teddy bear that held a chocolate bar in one arm and a heart in the other.

You went to the cash register, the clerk chuckled as he saw the mountain of chocolate you had. "That's a lot of chocolate," he laughed amused. You laughed sheepishly, "Yeah, it's for my boyfriend. He's a chocoholic." Instantly the clerk's face dropped, "Oh." An awkward silence overcame the two of you as he continued to scan the various products. "That will be $67.20," the clerk said in a monotone voice. You grimaced, What the f*ck! $67.20? You've got to be f*cking kidding me, Mello better like this!

Unenthusiastically you handed him the money and speedily left, struggling to carry the multiple heavy plastic bags. You shoved the bags into your car trunk and quickly sat in your car and drove off. You tapped your fingers nervously on the steering wheel as you drove, "I hope he's okay," you muttered to yourself as you pulled into the place where Mello resided.

You burst through the doors instantly spotting two of his henchmen, "Where is he?" You asked frantically. They both pointed to his bedroom, you rushed to Mello's bedroom and gently opened the door. The sight of Mello covered in multiple bandages almost brought tears to your eyes. "Babe?" You called out as you sat down on his bed as gently brushed his blonde hair out of his eyes.

Mello stirred in his unconscious state, "Y/n?" He groggily murmured as he reached up to cup your hand that was caressing his cheek. "Yeah it's me," you said as Mello slowly opened his eyes. "Are you okay?" You asked as you grimaced at his state. "Yeah I am now," Mello replied attempting to sit up but failing, groaning in pain he lied down with your assistance. "Don't strain yourself. I was so worried!" You exclaimed as you frowned. "I'm sorry," Mello said as he tugged on your arm, pulling you to him he placed a chaste kiss on your lips, you smiled against his lips.

"I got you something," you said as you remembered that Mello's chocolate and teddy bear was still in your car. "It's still in my car I'll go get it." Mello frowned, "Why do you have to go?" He whined wrapping his arms around you. You giggled, "I got you chocolate." Instantly Mello let go of you, "Go get it then!" You dashed to your car and grabbed the plastic bags and unsteadily made your way back into the house.

"Here they are!" You exclaimed as you dumped the plastic bags on the floor. "Don't just dump them babe! My babies are precious!" Mello yelped. You chuckled and grabbed the chocolate bars and set them onto his bedside table. "Thank you so much!" Mello said as he ravaged the chocolate bar hungrily. "I also got you this, but I didn't know if you'd like it or not," you said as you held up the teddy bear.

Mello was silent for a second before breaking out in a breathtaking smile. "It's really cute, but not very manly," Mello laughed. "But it's holding a freakin chocolate bar!" You exclaimed flailing your arms. Mello laughed again and motioned for you to lie next to him. You complied and shuffled over to him, you sighed as you rested your head on his uninjured shoulder. "You're an idiot," you said as Mello stroked your h/c hair. Mello let out a sigh, "I know."

Mello pressed a kiss on your head, "I love you so much it hurts," he mumbled against your hair. You smiled, "I love you too my idiot."
