You hummed softly as you painted, your skilled hand created delicate brush strokes with your beloved brush. "Hmm, it's missing something," you said as you took a step back to assess your painting. "Perhaps some more blue? No green? Nah that's not right. Purple?" You groaned in frustration and angrily tossed your palette and paintbrush onto the table that stood opposite of your canvas.

You plopped down onto the floor, your arms crossed in annoyance. As you moped a sudden vibration of your phone brought you out of your annoyed state. You subconsciously smiled when you saw that Kaneki had texted you.

You sighed as you remembered your 'hangout' at Anteiku a week and a half ago, the memories creating flickering images in your head. Your smile widened as you remembered how sweet he was, his silky raven hair, his enchanting grey eye that seemed to sparkle with passion and kindness. His laugh was a beautiful symphony to your ears, his smile was like the sun, it could instantly brighten your day. The way his cheeks flushed red when he was flustered or embarrassed seemed adorable to you, and the way he'd stutter when he was nervous or shy made you smile at his cuteness.

You opened the text and read it.

🖤Eyepatch🖤 - Hi Y/n! How've you been? Sorry for not being able to text you often, I've been really busy at Anteiku lately.

💖Picasso💖 - Hey Kaneki! I've been doing great! Well actually... I've been painting and I can't seem to do it right. :( Btw It's okay, you've got a demanding job and it's normal to be busy.

🖤Eyepatch🖤 - Glad to hear you're doing well. I'm sure you'll get your painting right, I just know it! You're an amazing artist, that's why I put your contact name as Picasso. :)

💖Picasso💖 - Ahaha rly? I'm not as good as Picasso.

💖Picasso💖 - Hey Kaneki, are you free this afternoon? I kinda want to hangout again.

🖤Eyepatch🖤 - Yeah I'm free this afternoon, I'd love to hangout. Maybe we could go to the city and walk around?

💖Picasso💖 - Sounds great! I'll meet you at the front of Anteiku at 2:30?

🖤Eyepatch🖤 - Okay, 2:30 it is. Can't wait!

🖤Eyepatch🖤 - I've gtg, Hinemi's bird just flew out of its cage and is currently flying everywhere. Cya later Y/n :)

💖Picasso💖 - Oh no! I hope you catch it. Cya Kaneki :)

You squealed at the idea of hanging out with Kaneki again, your stomach erupting in butterflies. "It's 1:00 pm already! I should get ready," you said as you got up and walked to your bedroom.

You opened your closet and scanned your options. After a while you laid three options onto your bed, you pondered about which one you'd choose.

Option 1 was casual with a black crop top with the words 'normal is boring' with galaxy skinny jeans and galaxy converse. It was topped off with a black beanie for accessories and had a slight hipster vibe to it.

Option 2 was also casual, it consisted of a black 2/4 sleeved crop top with light blue denim shorts. For shoes there was black converse, the outfit had a trendy feel to it.

Option 3 was a girly outfit with a white lace crop top paired with a blue 'denim' looking skirt that came to above your knees and flared out. For shoes you had beige platform/wedge shoes.

After a few minutes you chose option __. You put it on with an excited smile and proceeded to do your hair and makeup. You looked at your phone 12:15 it read. "Time to go!" You exclaimed as you grabbed your wallet and bag and headed out the door.

Fortunately you lived near the city so you were able to walk there, you hummed as you walked along. You could see the shop front of Anteiku in the distance so you quickened your pace. You saw Kaneki in front of Anteiku and waved to him, "Hi Kaneki!" You yelled as you walked across the road. "Hi Y/n- wait Y/n look out!" Kaneki yelled running over to you. You turned and froze, a car was coming your way at top speed.

"NOT TODAY SATAN!" You yelled as you dived out of the way. ( jk jk )

You dived out of the way just in the nick of time. "Thank God you're okay," Kaneki said as he ran over to you, he embraced you tightly. "Thank you for warning me Kaneki," you replied running a hand through his raven hair. "I don't want to lose you Y/n," Kaneki cried burying his head further into your shoulder, his tears staining your shirt.

"You won't lose me Kaneki," you said as you stroked his head. "I think we should cancel the hangout for now, let's just go into Anteiku, you seem to be hurt and I'm sure my friends will be able to attend to your wounds," Kaneki said pulling away and straightening himself. "Wounds?" You looked down at yourself and saw a long cut on your shoulder, a trickle of blood dripped from the wound and made a bloody path down your arm.

Grabbing your uninjured arm Kaneki lead you to Anteiku and opened the door. "Hinemi!" He called out, in a flash a small young girl with short light brown hair ran in, a colourful bird perched on her shoulder. "Hi Kaneki! What's wro- oh my gosh are you okay? I'll go get the first aid kit," Hinemi exclaimed rushing back upstairs.

"I'm back!" Hinemi shouted, a white first aid kit in hand. "Here give it to me," Kaneki said extending his arm to grab it. Hinemi quickly passed it to him and Kaneki immediately got to work. He grabbed a cotton ball and some disinfectant. "This is going to sting a little Y/n," Kaneki warned before wiping the cut with the disinfectant soaked cotton ball. "Holy shi-taki mushroom," you cried out, hissing in pain. "Shh it's okay we're almost done," Kaneki reassured stroking your hair.

Kaneki then grabbed a bandage and wrapped it gently around your cut placing a small kiss on top. "D-did you just kiss it better?" You stuttered blushing profusely. "Haha y-yeah," Kaneki said blushing in embarrassment. "Thank you for everything," you said leaning over to kiss him on the cheek. Kaneki's face turned beet red, his mouth wide open. You giggled. "Aww you're so cute~" you teased pinching his cheek. "Sh-shut up," he pouted crossing his arms like a four year old.

"I SHIP IT, I SHIP IT! MARRY HER KANEKI!" Hinemi yelled running off before Kaneki could catch her. "GET BACK HERE HINEMI!" Kaneki yelled before proceeding to catch her.
