Warnings: Swearing and violence.
We were home.
We were safe.
We had Abel.
And we had each other. There was nothing more we could ask for.
I woke up to see Jax sound asleep next to me.
"Good morning," I said once I saw his eyes flutter open.
"Good morning beautiful." I smiled at Jax.
In this life, moments like this where we just sat and stared at each other were moments that we didn't get too often. Jax and I stayed in bed for what felt like an eternity just staring at each other adoringly.
"I am so in love with you," Jax said as I giggled.
"And I am so in love with you but you need a shower." Jax gave me a fake offended look but before he could come back with his smart mouth, Abel let out a cry signaling he was awake. "Duty calls," I said climbing out of bed with a smirk.
"How did I get so lucky to get a second chance with you?" Jax said as I reached the door. I turned in the doorway with a smile.
"Luck had nothing to do with this. I was meant to find my way back to you." With that, I walked out to go see an impatient baby.
The club had this little motto.
"You live for the club, you die for the club."
I was never a patched member but I lived by the same motto. Even when I was gone. The club was my life and the only family I have ever known.
I would die for it any day just like I would die for Jax.
Club get together. They were only for family and patched club members. I sat with Lyla, Jax, and Abel eating some of Gemma's most amazing cooking.
"I'll be right back," Lyla said quickly standing up and running over to Opie. I looked at Jax with a confused look.
"Alright! Everyone listen up, Lyla has something to say!" Jax and I both stood up as turned to face our best friend.
"We're engaged!" Cheers filled the room.
"Opie! Oh, my God!" I screamed running up and wrapping my arms around his neck. "Congratulations!" Opie chuckled hugging me back. I made my way over to Lyla with a smile.
"Congratulations! Let me see the ring!" I said as Lyla held out her hand showing me the beautiful ring. I gave her a hug as I spoke. "Welcome to the family baby."
"Thank you, (Y/N)." We pulled away and I moved so that more club members and family could congratulate them.
I walked out of the club and over to the picnic table. I reached into my purse and hauled out a pack of cigarettes and took one out before lighting it up.
"You know, you shouldn't smoke. It's bad for your lungs." I looked up to see Jax standing there.
"Says you, you smoke a pack a day." Jax scoffed at me before sliding onto the table. "Jax, I've been meaning to tell you something." I hauled up my purse once again and reached into it.
"I know, you found the transcript your dad wrote." Jax looked at me shocked. "I've been writing one too... Well, more like a novel that I will probably never publish."
"You're writing?" I smiled at Jax, nodding my head.
"Ever since New York."
"What is the name of your unpublished book?" Jax questioned as I over looked Teller-Morrow.
