"Mommy! Wake Up!" Was the first thing Maya heard as she woke up. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes, she wrapped her arms around Luke and Lilly, who retired from jumping on the bed to sitting next to her. Lucas was in the shower.
"What's the occasion?" Maya asked, yawning, as Luke and Lilly pointed at her ringed finger.
"Aunt Riley told us last night that you had a surprise for us." Luke said and Lilly nodded.
"Oh, did she? Hey wait- werent you asleep?"
"We woke up. Now, give us the surprise."
"Well," Maya smiled, wiggling her finger in front of the kids.
Lilly giggled, "You have a ring. Are you getting married?"
Maya nodded, causing Lilly and Luke to exchange over-exaggerated gasps.
"Who is it?" Lilly asked excitedly and Luke nodded, though not as interested as Lilly, who loved magical fairytales and happy endings.
"Who do you want it to be?"
"Erm." Luke and Lilly looked at each other before nodding in unison, as though they had telepathy.
"Daddy." Lilly announced and Maya smiled.
"Correct."
At that, Lilly and Luke cheered, pumping their fists up into the air and giving Maya hugs.
Not long after, Lucas came in, shirtless and wet. "What did i miss?"
Lilly and Luke giggled. "We're not telling you."
Lucas gasped, pretending to be hurt. "Why not?", as he climbed onto the bed. "Tell me, or i'll call out the tickle monster!"
Luke and Lilly squealed, before jumping into Maya's embrace, requesting for protection.
Maya laughed blissfully, watching Lucas acting like a monster, grabbing Luke and Lilly.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Luke and Lilly jumped into Lucas and Maya's arms, running from Riley as the couple walked into the kindergarten.
After Riley ushered Luke and Lilly to the side to play so the three could talk privately, she folded her arms, raising her eyebrows at the newly engaged couple.
"So," Riley started, gesturing to Lucas and Maya's entwined fingers.
Before any of them had the chance to speak, however, a familiar face reappeared.
"Missed me?" Called the voice as the adults' jaws dropped.
