"Ring!" The bell of the veterinarian rang as a brunette sashayed into the air conditioned shop house. Lucas looked up from his watch that read: 7am. The time when he was supposed to meet the owner of the tortoise.

"Hey Lucas." Came a flirtatious voice and Lucas frowned, "What are you doing in here, Missy?" Lucas spat. He had not forgotten what she had done to the group a few years ago. She was the one who sent the message to Maya, telling Maya that Lucas slept with Erin, which was not the case.

Missy rolled her eyes and ignored Lucas's tone before smirking, basking in Lucas's shock after. "Im the tortoise girl, idiot."

When Lucas regained his composure, he narrowed his eyes and decided to be civil, to treat Missy like a regular customer. However, she had other plans in mind.

Reaching up, she leant over the counter and smashed her puckered lips onto Lucas's, causing his eyes to widen and he struggled to free himself.

In his struggle, he failed to notice a flash of a camera outside the window.

"Bye guys!" Maya bade as she blew a kiss to Lilly and Luke before hugging Riley goodbye and leaving the kindergarten. As her heels clicked against the pavements, she took out a phone.

"Hm. New message. From Unknown?" She muttered to herself, before tapping the password on her phone and viewing the message.

Unknown: 📸 Picture. Hey Maya. Pick up the kids for Lucas k? He's busy 😘.

Maya's eyes widened. The picture showed Lucas and Missy kissing. Tears stung her eyes as she tried not to believe it. But with all that evidence...

Maya shook her head and rushed to the vet. She had to see it for herself first. Nodding her head feistily, Maya brisk walked up to the vet shop. However, the scene that she saw next utterly dumbfounded her as she took some time to register the sight to her brain. Lucas. Missy. Smiling. Laughing. Together. Maya stopped dead in her tracks and tears threatened to spill. Telling herself that she mustn't cry in public, she braved the situation and walked into the vet, gave Lucas a cold, hard stare, ignored his confused expression, and stormed out of the vet.

Lucas's eyes widened as he caught sight of his fiancée. Giving Missy a death glare, he rushed out of the vet, towards Maya while Missy smirked, beckoning a bony finger for a man in the bushes to reveal himself as she paid him his money.

"Maya!" Lucas searched the street desperately, gaining a few stares along the way as he frowned in frustration, knowing that Maya must've thought he was cheating on her. However, the closest he got was seeing her car drive off and into the road. He sighed, wanting to give chase but he could no longer see the car, thus he would surely have no chance of finding it after he got to his car. Maya would surely be smart enough to not go to her studio or her apartment. His only hope was to wait for her to pick Luke and Lilly up at the kindergarten. He knew she would never abandon her son and adoptive daughter.
