That night, Maya and Lucas lay in bed with Lilly and Luke, worried to be apart from them. Lucas watched as Lilly and Luke as their chests heaved up and down in deep sleep. He looked at Maya, who was staring at the ceiling, refusing to talk to him without the presence of Riley and Farkle.

He knew it was because she didn't believe Bianca wasnt a part of Lucas, and neither was Blanche. He wouldn't have cheated on her, as Missy was further along than the time Lucas and Maya had spent together after those six years, but it still would've broken her heart.

Lucas sighed, knowing to let her calm down before he talked to her. He was lucky enough she didn't ask him to sleep at his own apartment.

"Lucas?" Maya asked, after a while, voice soft, shocking him.

"Y-yea, Maya?"

"Are you gonna keep Bianca and Blanche?"

"W-what?"

"You heard me."

"They're not mine, Maya, you know that."

"No, I don't. I don't know anything about you anymore. How do I know you're not lying? How do I know what you did before coming to me? Don't think I forgot about the kiss. I know you kissed today, at your office."

Silence.

"We'll talk about this tomorrow, Maya." Lucas sighed after a while, knowing this wouldn't go down without a fight. "The kids are sleeping. Tomorrow, we'll talk. I promise."

No response.

-

"Morning Mummy!" Luke and Lilly greeted cheerfully, all dressed for school, as she stumbled out of her bedroom in a mess.

"Morning." She grinned, fixing her hair. It was amazing how they recovered so quickly from the kidnap. Kids were kids.

"Morning, short stacks." Someone greeted, as Maya narrowed her eyes at him. "Lucas." She greeted, venom strong in her tone.

Lucas sighed, but still relieved Maya had decided to stay at least a little civil for the sake of their children. He had taken a leave from the vet to talk to her, knowing she was staying home from the studio to rest after getting kidnapped.

After dropping the kids off, with Riley keeping quiet for once, noticing the tension and being advised by Farkle not to step in, Lucas followed Maya all the way back home, no matter how much she had tried to ignore him.

"Maya." He called, as they arrived back in her apartment. No reply.

"Maya!"

"..."

"MAYA!" He yelled.

"WHAT IS IT, LUCAS." She yelled back, eyebrows knit together. "I don't want to hear it. I trusted you, after what you did in High School. I don't even know if I believe your 'mistaking my blonde hair for hers' story anymore. YOU KISSED MISSY WHEN WE WERE DATING! It doesn't matter if you're her kids' dad or not anymore!"

With that, she ran into her room, slamming the door behind her before sliding against the door in tears.
