Ethen

It was a warm, sunfilled morning. The war had ended and we had returned to our daily routine.

I was sitting at my favorite place of the house, our garden, under an oak tree, as I watching the scenery.

However, what filled my soul more than anything was the love of my life, Layla. She had layed down, while resting her head on my chest. My heart was beating fast and loud, when she was anywhere near me. I knew that she was aware of that, but nothing could stop me from living our love at the max.

I turned my head towards her and she looked so peaceful that I was watching my every move, so that I don't upset her. She has been through so much these last few months. Her face is alive again, in every sense of the word. Her cheeks are red  and look lively aswell. Her lips are filled with colour and she lost the paleness of a vampire. When I am kissing her now, I don't feel her fangs anymore. But the most important thing is that her heart is beating again.

Nevertheless, she's not the only one who has changed, but me too with her.

I used to be overwhelmed by emotions, such as anger and rage, for everything that had  happened in the past. Layla's positive energy helped me see things through a different perspective, more calmly and to cherish every minute of my life.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw that she had opened her eyes and I told her jokingly:

'I'm glad I don't have to kill to get your meal anymore.'and I smiled at her playfully.

'Yeah, I'm also happy about that. You weren't doing such a good job at that. As much as I hate Isla, her meals were better than yours.'she told me teasingly.

'Ohhh, is that so?'I said and started tickling her and continued later on: 'You're the best thing that has happened to me in my whole life. I'm the luckiest person in the world to have you.'and I truly meant every word I said with all my heart.

'I love you Ethen.'she told me and my whole world turned upside down. She is my life.

'I love you too, my little girl.'I reassuringly told her and we went on kissing each other passionately.

I suddenly felt Layla beside me stiffening and her face had also turned to stone. I looked towards where she was looking and I realised that the group of people heading towards us were Layla's old pack memebers.

I stared at them persistentely and I just couldn't believe that these are the people that turned against my Layla. If I were them I would never betray her. Such a kind person like her deserves all the love one can get from the world.

They were trying to convince her to return to their pack.

I was so furious that I could not stand still anymore.

'Layla isn't going anywhere! This is her new home.'I told them.

Thankfully, Layla shared the same opinion and refused their offer. She looked at them with so much hate and one could clearly see how dissapointed she was at them, especially at her supposed best friend. I was holding back for her, otherwise I would've already attacked them.

'Fine, Layla. We'll leave you here, but don't think that this matter is settled.'the leader of the pack lastly threatened us.

There is no way I'm letting them take her from me.

I will protect her 'till death. I will love her forever.
