Trapped between two lifes

Epilogue

One month had passed since the battle and me becoming a werewolf again.

On the one hand I'm relieved that I'm back to my old self and I can remember everything now, but on the other hand I feel so much anger. I'm forced to go through bad situations again, like my parents' death or my packs betrayal towards me, like I'm living them for the first time again. I am trying to cope with my feelings and fortunately I have Ethen, who helps me a lot. However I'm still having nightmares, but Ethen is beside me every night, holding me tightly in his arms, to reassure me that everything is OK.

The rest of the pack welcomed me with great joy as their new member.

Everything was calm in the house. Emma had recovered from her injury and Ronan was constantly beside her. He was taking care of her day and night. They finally admitted their feelings towards each other, showing it clearly to us, since they wouldn't leave the each other, not even for one second. All they've been doing is kissing and hugging. Of course their usual arguments continued at times.

Vincent was teasing them, but we also teased him because he would become a dad. They announced us one day after the battle that Kate was pregnant. Great, the pack would get another jokester. They were all fighting over the name of the baby, especially Ronan kept on insisting to name the baby after him, if it was going to be a boy.

My relationship with Cora was much better now. Despite the fact that I was with Ethen, she did not seem to be really bothered by it. Either way I think that her interest has turned to someone else.

As for Luke, he, Gabriella and Isabella created a new group, including other vampires. He kept his word and the two sides managed to live harmonically. He and the twins had paid us numerous visits. The twins bonded immediately with Emma and Ronan. Luke seemed to show a big interest in Cora. Even if she was abrupt with him, she showed him her sympathy , at times.

We were all getting along with each other, even though it was something new to everyone.

I was sitting with Ethen on a blanket on the grass, while we were hugging each other. It was afternoon and we waited for the sun to set.

''I'm glad I don't have to kill to get your meal anymore.'' said Ethen and smiled to me.

''Yeah, I'm also happy about that too. You weren't doing such a good job at that. As much as I hate Isla, her meals were better than yours.''

''Ohh is that so?'' he said and started tickling me.

After I was laughing for so long, until my stomach hurt, he let go off me and kissed me softly on my mouth.

''You're the best thing that has happened to me in my whole life. I'm the luckiest person in the world to have you.''

''I love you Ethen.''

''I love you too, my little girl.'' and we continued smooching, as Vincent called it.

It was the happiest day of my life.

If someone had told me that we would have survived the battle or that I would become a werewolf again and that I would be together with Ethen now, I wouldn't believe him. I'd tell him that he was crazy to believe in such things. But it did happen.

I want to stay with him forever, but also with the rest of the pack. They accepted me and treated me friendly, even as a vampire. They may have used me in the beginning for their goal, but they soon put me in their heart, just like I have them.

If I was still in my old pack, none of this would have been possible. Their betrayal hurts me a lot and even more the fact that Jordan let them hurt me.

However, I feel happy that I've met so many new people, who try to heal the wounds of my soul, everyday.

While we were looking with Ethen at the sunset, I felt a presence near us.

I lifted my head up a bit, to see if something was really there.

That's when I saw Elian, together with the rest of the pack, heading towards us.

Ethen saw my upheaval and looked towards the way I was looking to, to see what was going on.

''Ethen, it's my old pack.''

He immediately got up and put his arm before me, protectively.

''Layla, we have come for you. You don't have to be afraid. As soon as we heard a rumor about a girl that turned from a vampire to a werewolf, we knew it was you and so we came to find you. You should know that we did everything for your own good. I'm sure you wouldn't want to live your whole life as a vampire. Thank you for taking care of her, but now it's time for her to come home.''

''Layla isn't going anywhere. This is her new home.'' Ethen said, clearly angry and disgusted by Elian's behavior.

''Ethen's right. You betrayed me and you really think that I would come back to you? As soon as I told you what I had become, you started chasing me. I've been through so much because of you, but I met people, who truly loved and protected me.''

Jordan took a step forward and spoke:

''Layla, please come back. I need you.''

''You were the last person I ever thought would betray me, but you did. You're not worthy enough to be my friend. You should have thought about it earlier, that you need me. Now I belong somewhere else.'' I told him and he lowered his head.

''Fine, Layla. We'll leave you here, but don't think that this matter is settled.'' said Elian and left with the pack.

The sun had set and it looks like new adventures await us in the future.
