Body Double

"Football players behaving badly, what else is new?" Roni says as we walk down the hall holding flashlights.

"Steubenville, Glen Ridge, The coach's son being the ringleader. I mean, just how depraved is this town?" Roni states.

"Color me impressed."

We all jump looking back and I groan. "Cheryl," I state.

Why are we even surprised that she would pop up.

"A B and E with B, K and V. What would your holy roller mother say about this, Betty?"

"What are you doing here, Cheryl?"

"And where did you get those thigh-high boots? They're amazing." Kevin says.

"Trev told Valerie, who told Josie, who told Ginger, who told Tina, who told me. And I thought I would help out."

"Sure you did," I state walking off after Ethel. I look at the book she has as we look in here. "Before you call them let me check this all out, okay?"

"Yeah?" I take my own pictures looking behind my shoulder to make sure they didn't notice.

"Thanks," I tell her and she nods calling the others in.

"They didn't even bother to hide it," I state.

"New girl? Is that what I'm reduced to? Nine points?"

"It's better than "Big girl." Seven points five." Ethel says out loud.

"Polly's in this book." Betty notes which her sister name was by Jason's.

Roni apologizes that Betty had to see this. Of course, I would have but I was most interested in past players. My dad being in here too apparently he came to school here as well. No wonder he met my mom here and hates the Blossoms. I look down the list feeling sick of all this. They are terrible. Jason was terrible. I'm glad he's dead. I'm so glad that Chuck got his ass knocked by me. Using Ethel and my sister like some pawns. I turn walking out the locker room passing an upset Betty.

"Kat?"

I sit down on the steps of the school. The sky is dark with little stars showing. I look up as the clouds past shutting off my light. My mind flashes back to the night I had got arrested thankfully my dad has some officers on his payroll. I sigh thrusting my hands into my hair.

What am I doing here? I can't go back to that lifestyle. Not without dad. Hiram Lodge. I close my eyes before the stars shine again. I look up noticing Roni standing in front of me.

"I've seen that look before and don't worry. If you don't want to go dark. We get it. But Betty and I are ready to make Chuck pay. Are you in or out?"

I stand up smiling at him. "As long as you stop me before I go too far. I'm in."

She grins hugging me. "I couldn't do this without you, Katie."

I hear a knock on the door and take off my cover up slipping into the hot tub since Roni went to the door. "You're not Betty."

"Betty and I talked it over, and we decided it's time to stop fighting over Archie and start learning to share."

I go underwater wondering if FP would be mad if he knew what business I was taking care of now. I stand up looking back. Chuck stops seeing me and I notice he tenses up. "Hello, Chuck."

"What is this?"

"I'm sharing, Chuck. I've always wanted what my sister has." I state biting my lip.
