Chapter Nineteen

To Riverdale and Back Again

"We need to keep looking."

I open the door and they both turn around surprised. "Hello, you two."

"Katie?"

"Kate."

They both sound surprised as I lock the door.

"Sit down both of you."

"No, we can't FP on his way home."

"I know he is," I state before motioning them to sit down. I carefully go around looking through everything and taking pictures.

"What are you doing here? How'd you know we were here?"

"Do you think I'm stupid, Roni!?" I yell out when I get back to her. "You're going after Jughead dad for no reason. They love each other and they are a family. Dad had nothing to do with Jason Blossom's murder. Stop trying to prove otherwise."

"All you do is defend him and you protect him I don't understand why!"

"You won't understand Roni because you're too emotional. Detach yourself from those emotions for once. Then maybe you'd understand. Let's go." I tell her and they stand walking out.

I look around checking his apartment again. There was nothing. Everything was okay. I turn walking out of the apartment and locking it back. I place my spare key inside my bag before seeing that Archie and Roni left. Son of a bitch! I walk to the car getting in.

"Where to?"

"Riverdale High School."

He nods and drives off.

"Hey Jug... where are the others?"

"Kevin said they were in the hall." I nod and we make our way out. "Hey, guys." I say walking toward them when I notice Betty teary eyes.

"What's going on? Why do I feel like we're suddenly left out?"

"Jug..." I say look at him. "Maybe you guys should tell him." I offer glaring toward Roni and Archie.

"Wait you know?"

"They left before I could scold them further. Go ahead tell him how disgusting piece of shits you two really are."

"Tell me what?"

I walk toward Betty rubbing her shoulder.

"We went to your dad's trailer to..."

"To search it, Jughead."

"Why would you guys do that?"

"My mom put them up to it."

"And when I got there to tell them it was stupid they ghost on me." I told him after Betty.

"Why would she do that?"

I sigh looking away.

"She was convinced he was hiding something about Jason."

"We were wrong. All of us. We didn't find anything."

"And Jug, we were only doing it to prove that-"

"That my dad wasn't a murderer? You went behind my back, Archie?"

"Jug..."

"How did you... When did you guys know to go to my dad's trailer?"

"We knew he'd be at dinner with-" Jug turns away from all of us and Betty leaves my side.
